Anti-depressants don't really work. They just make you angry. Just ask my properly depressed friend, who never made it onto Charas.

Anti-depressants do work, but you have to be depressed because of a chemical imbalance in your brain. Most suicidaly depressed people create their depression from their own strees, so until they realize that's it's their problem and get their act together instead of waiting for everyone else to get better to their liking (as most do), they can't get better.

i have heard that Anti-depressants only work if you are proven by a doctor to suffer from chronic depression and that the come-down off the drugs is worse then the depression so people feel then need to take them so often, if they get to the point where they cannot take them it can lead to suicide, that is what i heard, it may be true it may not be

But these days, a lot of teenagers, when ever something doesn't go their way, they become sad and SAY it's depression. Dude, teenagers suck.

Also, I'm sick of hearing people say depression is an emotion. Its not! It's freaking sadness that is similiar and often mixed up.

its not so much a mental disease, more of a LOW! state of mind.

That right there is 100% right. It's like people wanna be. I remember when I showed my friends that "Are You A Goth?" thing. All of them said that they had the depression thing. It was a total load.

Hmmm... I don't think suicide is cowardice. It takes alot of courage to take your own life, and usually it's because your life is so bad that it's worse than nothing. Just think, suicide means no more pain, no more sadness on your part.

I'm not promoting suicide, but I don't think suicidal people should be treated harshly. They'll always have a very good reason for trying to kill themselves, because it takes massive will power to override your survival instinct.

so true.... Most of us just keep it in our minds tht we're depressed and we actually begin to believe it...

Most people are pathetic and just give up when live turns a bad hand...
Hey, I'm actually diagnosed with depression, but I dont laze about feeling sorry for myself like most people seem to do when they have "Depression", and I'm sure that most people with the actual "Illness" as you all seem to put it, dont feel sorry for themselves either... that just pi$$e$ me off when people do that...

oh yeah, and Moosetroop, I'm not trying to have a dig at you or anything, but what you are saying is a load of crap, how can you say that suicicde is not cowardice!!?!
Suicide is cowardice because you cant face up to the world. NOT cowardice because it's hard to take your own life...

Hmmm... I can see what you're saying, but I beleive that a person's life is their own. What they do with it, so long as they're not hurting others, is their own choice. That's all I mean.

I think you misinterpreted what Moosetroop meant..
Probably only if that person was very close to another. It all depends on the situation really..
