As I promissed...

...this will be the last time.

Quote
When I'm finishing writing these words, I'm almost sure this thread here is already in a war, locked or deleted, if thats the case, I'll make ANOTHER thread to express my opinions, just like Raffles to tell the truth. But I won't post again after that, so don't get worried, I know when to give up.

 Well, here I am.
Lets continue a little, shall we?

By deleting my last thread, you did what I think it was unuseful, you're trying to hide the problem.
This doesn't works, its just giving him why to continue doing that, hiding the problem will only cause it to come back later with more strengh(I like totally forgot how do you spell that) than before.
The human mind, when facing problems, activate many defenses to make it look small. Ocasionally, this defense can be just pretending the problem doesn't exists (as we can see by Razor's signature). Other times, we know and accept the problem exists, but we just do something else or go away to not have to think about it. And it also can happen that we don't accept we have a problem, and we put the fault into someone else. "Yes, this place is horrible, but it isn't my faut, its the fault of..." "...If it wasn't by him, everything would be just fine."
The problem can be evited temporaly this way, but as a sickness that its ingnored (or just medicated with medicines that only hide the pain, but doesn't cure), it'll inevitably grow and get worse. Pretending that this trouble is inexistant will only let space to it grow up.

"[...]If we face directaly our troubles, we'll be in a better position to see its profundity and nature. In a war, if we don't bother to know the capacity of our enemy, we'll be completaly unpreparet and paralised by the fear. However, if we know about the weapons the enemy use, its capacity and such, we will be in a betterposicion for when we enter in combat. The same way, if we face our problems instead of ignoring it, we'll be in a better posicion to make it stop." - Dalai Lama

First, we all have to accept this place HAS a problem in the moment. ... ... ... Did you already accepted it? Good. Now, what we have to do is to NOT lock or delete this thread, and discuss this problem. And the problem, as you may have guessed, its the currently war beetwen Kijuki, DF, Hector, charaman, Warxe, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Sinceraly, I think the best way of solving this is to everyone say what they think is wrong, and the others, instead of replying, they could try to change what is wrong.
As an example: I think lately there has been too much lockage and deletage around here. Now, instead of saying how I'm wrong and how my opinion is soooooooo crappy, try to change it. I'll try to change my problems once you try to change yours.

Hector's threads souldn't be deleted because they MAYBE can turn into flame wars, if he break the rules, fine, delete that post where he broke it, not all the thread. Plus, saying that Hector's thread was becoming a war before it did its the same as George W. Bush saying he attacked the east because they maybe have chemical weapons.

Hector shoudn't post unnecessary information or porn or anything else he know its against the rules, its just not needed.

My main problem right now is that interesting threads, such as "MEAT=MURDER" were deleted without me knowing the reason, word say it was porn, but couldn't we just delet that single post and let the thread go on?

Well, thats it, I won't post anything else after that.

Oh, BTW, I keep half an hour writing this, forgive me if something else happened and I'm not warned of.

Well said, Grandy. If more Charas members were like you, there'd probably be a lot less conflict on the boards.

But it is difficult to ignore C.HR, especially for me and Darkfox. We want to try and make a difference, and though ignoring him would be a very good idea, we continue posting to try and deter him from posting more. Though this strategy has been done to death and still doesn't work, we continue doing it because it might pay off. Besides, we need at least a few people to blindly attack C.HR, just to keep things interesting.

The conflicts are started by the ones who make the threads.

Sorry, Grandy, don't mean to argue in here.

it's crazy that this is being discussed in about 3 threads. but this one has the best approach.

The lockage deletage is normal around this time, it'll spike up durring the summer months when new users join. and the more newer users: the less rules being followed. So they mess up alot, you can only imagine how much Moving of threads I do.

EDIT: soon this will go down when schools start back up and only the "real" stronger charas members stay, it's a cycle.

What's wrong is the fact that many say, "Let's stop this," yet they continue to add fuel to the fire. When a voice of reson steps in, they ignore the person who is trying to help and continue to attack. Human instinct. Beat the horse until it's dead.

It has to be realized that people from all walks of life are different. But when faced with an ordeal, why get up and moan about it? Is it because you can't handle it? Do you wish to humiliate the other? Hidden agendas are what are imbedded in many of the posts. The thing we need to do is accept the differences in people and try and come to terms with each other.

the following posts have been moved to this thread from a similar topic

drenrin2120:
It makes me sick, honest to god. I've been hearing things left and right about Raffles this and Raffles that. Pop1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ,50! Some of the most respectable members here have stooped to some low levels, so it seems. You've all turned in on eachother and made Alex's hard earned RPG Forum become a flame fest. An eternal "who can stab who in the back" first, "who can slit the other's throat" the fastest... It's sickening. You all need to realize one thing, how can you honestly get up in the morning, or whenever, and log on to Charas knowing this is what you're going to find??

Maybe i'm wrong to be saying this. And I know some of you are gonna say what you want to say. "It's raffle's fault!" "It's hector who started it all!" I don't give a **** who started what first! The fact is, you all bought into it and it's turned this forum into nothing but hell. It's made people edgy, it's made them tense, and purely unlikeable. This is no longer a forum for RPGs. I honestly don't know what it's for. To see all this bickering amongst eachother, fighting over stupid ****. Do you really even know why you're fighting? Can you tell me? I'd love to know! I feel like Smith talking to Anderson right now! Answer me, *******'t! So while you're all busy flaming ppl, the same ppl you once helped make games with, make stories and build a community, Charas is crumbling around you! And I know Alex must be itching to just push that delete button!

So, say I'm ranting on and on about nothing. Tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. But every last one of you needs to look at yourself before you post another word.

Sorry Alex, you've lost a member that cared. I've made my decision, I won't be coming back.

DarkFox:

I only have dreams to return back to the old Charas, where we worked and helped each other on games because we liked to.

Do you think I don't see, do you think I'm blind to it? Do you think I'm just ranting? It's because I have a dream of a returned harmony. And one day I know that'll come true. Where we exchange our creative ideas, and well... as gamers and possible future game makers.

We should not always give up on our dreams, this one, the one of my friends, and the one of my story are ones I'll never let go of no matter what happens. I won't give up on any of that.

That was the point behind my song's title, "Never Die".

I won't give up on these dreams of mine, maybe you can, but I can never... and it's not just because I'm a mod, it goes a bit deeper, and I don't think I quite understand myself. This place holds history to me... it's my home on the net.

This may be one of our must unglorious days but we always pull through... and we'll do it again

Spike21:

I think charas will return to to its normal self one day in a long time. But i will take a while to recover from its wounds. I say my dream is to become a graphics designer and this site has been helping me so far and i do not want it to stop. I say wut raffles did we should all forget about it and not acuse evry noob that comes to charas raffles cause what happend in the past we can not change it and if we could there would be no mistakes to learn from. And also we should welcome the noobs here as i was welcomed when i was a noob.

I think it is sad that drenrin is leaving. he made great music for me and many other people. but if you want to go. go i understand y u are leaving. I have many bad things to say about raffles but i am not going to say them because then it will start an all out flame war and i do not want that. And i think every one else should just forget about raffles.

If it is raffles that is causing every one to be like this i think that is very sad. Cause this is wut raffles really wanted was it not.

...You think you can get to people by a speech. Sure you might hear someone say "Your totally right I want things to go back the way they we're!" Or even make another speech and then you discover that there flaming and spamming in the forums a few hourse maybe days later. You won't get through to people in words and you CAN'T get through to people by force. And banning is not going to help because they'll make a new account simple as that. Things might possibly never go back and thats okay. If you don't spam or flame or anything like that TRY to ignore the spamming and flaming. If theres flaming in a forum USE your commen sense..don't think about using it. Don't entertain the thought. If you post your going to add to the fire. They'll insult you and most likly 'pride' or whatever you want to call it takes over and you eventually start flaming. This hoever may not be the case with everyone but most of us. Even if it's meant for good intentions don't post in a flame. Even if it's "Hey you are so immature stop and try to make up I'm sure it was an accident." It will only make things worse. Two people are mad at eachother, it's pride vs. pride, ego vs. ego no one cans top it until someone makes a blow that hurts the other so badly they take thier anger not on that pwerson but the whole forums. Well I'm rambling and I better stop.

Ok. I'm confused. What's with Charaman? And Warxe? I thought it was Hector(a.k.a. Raffles) who was making trouble. Someone, please inform me.

 Words from a small-time moderator

I've been having my mouth shut for a long time and been watching you all. People are mentioning the same things over and over. All this chaos has been caused by one single little man.
You know how pathetic that sounds?
And everyone keeps mentioning that they want charas to become as it used to be. And that is not hard to make happen, all we really need to do is to show some respect to each other.
We have done that before and we can start doing it again.
And I know people will just reply to this "It ain't that simple little man.", and I believe that's wrong. That's exactly how simple it is!
We don't need to dream about everything going back to the way it was, let's just make it happen.

I have always been going by these words "As long as you're alive you have the ability to change". And I see that sentence fit into this kind of situation.
Instead of all this whining, can't we just forget about all this and move on? If we do that charas will become the way it was.

I remember in the beginning of April when someone posted the April Fools thread and everyone thought I was a girl, that was my favorite moment at charas this year for me. Back then people was happy and everyone had fun. And that was not long ago!
I have thousands of more examples but I am (the worst excuse ever, I know) too lazy to post them.

So now I ask you all please, can we just leave this behind and change what's coming back to the way it once was?

Who else agrees with me?
