Sai'Kar, you're losing it, man.  You're my friend but I have to say Osmose was my friend too, and there is no excuse to flame someone on Charas,  PM or not, friend or not.  I think that because Osmose cleverly does it off the main threads, the believes he'll get away with it.  And he has, and he is.  Good job everyone, you let another Raffles in.

I'm ndefinetly not saying "ban Osmose" that's rediculous.  Simply *because* he's kept it off of the main forums do I believe him to not get banned.  But I think an "almost yes" is in order ESPECIALLY considering who DID get the "almost yes" status and who did NOT.

Neither of them deserve it, and if either of them do, so does charaman (as he stated himself).  I'm not sticking up for them, and again, I srupport Alex's decisions, but I'm trying to open your eyes to what Alex seems to consider "almost yes" worthy; Osmose fits this bill to a "T".

And charaman, I think it took a lot of guts to post this here because you knew you could get rideculed for it; I admire that.  Just don't go attacking Admins, wrong or right.  Same reason you don't go telling your school Principal or your Professor to shove it.

Goat-person-member-thingy-yeah....um, I dislike that you want to reduce everything down to your own favorable terms ("if it's between posting pornography and someone who hurt your feelings, I think there's no contest") and then giving someone 2 choices, thereby duping any members that read that into taking your side.  That's the same tactics Raffles uses, clever word manipulation.  I dunno if you did it on purpose, but it made me mad nonetheless.

Personally, I think flamming should be an almost yes offense and pornography should be a bannable offense.  But that's my opinion, and the way I run TDR doesn't affect charas.

Charaman did the right thing to bring this up, specially because itīs the moderation-administration job to punish anyone who disturbs peaceful members, but it takes a long time for it to happen, when it does.

What would the right solution be? PM Saikar or Alex and get no response?

So, being bad, or good member doesnīt really matter, just because no oneīs getting punished...

when you flame throug PM you should get an almost yes status because is still flaming if you do it public youll get completely bannned status.

That's not the mod's job. Our job is to make sure things are running smoothly and to settle disputes. But when someone just starts yelling "OMG BAN THEM" they don't want to talk. They just want to use the moderators as a weapon against the other person. That's not how the game works. If you want your problems solved, you have to be willing to talk with both the moderators or the people that are bothering you. Otherwise nothing will really get acomplished.

And, let's face it, private message logs are easy to fake. I can't read them. Neither can DF, Kijuki, Carmen, or any of the other mods. We're just taking your word for it.

Actually, it does matter. Good members get their requests done quickly, have lots of people comment on their game ideas, and may even become moderators at some point. "Bad" people get ignored. If you can hack the site in the first place, you should know how to get yourself unbanned. Although I wouldnt be surprised if one day I come to charas and it says "Sorry, this site hacked by so and so..."

Wow, fine selceted words, I thought it was the other way around... atleast that's what it seemes like... I'm not saying that bad poeple becomes Mods, but they tend to always get their way... somehow...
take me for example, I always tend to be the "good" guy belive it or not and I always help if I can even though it's not much I can do, while someother poeple who is the "bad" poeple almost always gets their way without haveing to do too much...

Anyways: I cannot recall anyone attacking any admin while reading through this thread. then again it might just be me not having read everything... If indeed Charman was PM flamed by Osmose then why shouldn't he report it to an mod or Admin? after all admins and mods are the one responsible to keep the peace here on charas, I'm not saying that the Admins and mods are making a lousy job to keep the peace... although Charaman, making a thread about it was quite childish... I would love to be able to go to the mods and admins about it, but whenever i have PMed them in the past, it is either brushed aside, or not even dignified with a reply.


And to Trev, Saikar, KM, and others: I was not attacking KM with that post, and I'm sorry it came across that way. That just is the way it feels to me.
