both sides of the argument are right for me. yes it was success mainly because it captures the spirit both of Square and Disney in a single game. that doest derive it from the fact of what was made of. I'll never ever will like the idea of disney chara + ff chara; they are just worlds apart (dun give me the crap that they arent; their only relation is fantasy.). My roomates are in love with kh but i am 90% sure that they do BECAUSE of the ff charas. I do believe if the game had taken out all the ff charas from the game, it would have not been such a success. Yes i am saying most of the people that liked he game to an "omg its effing cool shut up" were biased because of the ff influence.

I heard guys saying "oh KH2 has auron in it. Cool i cant wait to play it, auron is awesome!" i was like "o.0" because of one chara..

Again i do not deny it's success, nor the great storyline ppl say it has. ppl say because it was creative (in the sense that it was an original idea). It isn't (well it was, but not in the way mentioned). There alots of crossover games, and i am sure alot of other gaming companies had have similiar ideas but didnt execute them for reasons, or who knows maybe they will in the future, but everyone will claim "ripoff" from kh.

 

Oh, and one more thing. Overrated? Famitsu gave HK2 39/40.

for all you people that dont know final fantasy 3 was the japanese/snes/nes original, then it got turned into final fantasy 6

BAD, FF3 and 6 were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAMES



I think, although I never played it, that the idea behind KH was brilliant. It's a fangame, basically, so it follows the rules of fangame. If you like that sort of thing, cool. If you don't, don't play it.

Someone, please explain to Trevlac, who does not see a reason for the fighting, why it must go on.

Let me say this, I used to hate Kingdom Hearts.  I was all "Eew, Donald and Goofy with Final Fantasy?  Retarded."  Then my freind Vince brought it over to me house and we played for HOURS.  When I bought my PS2 slim, I bought only KH.  After broadening my mind, I learned that it was retarded of ME to judge KH before even playing it.  So I say to anyone who has not played it for a substantial period of time, shut the fu duck up.  No, seriously, not flaming, but we really don't need that kind of uneducated, narrowminded opinion.  Many of you were reminding me of politicians in this respect.

As for Final fantasy VII, I don't care WHAT someone's opinion of FF7 was, it was a great peice of work graphically (at the time) functionally, metaphorically, and all around a wonderful peice of writing.  That is not my opinion, that is a critique.  Final Fantasy VII pushed the limits at that time for games (RPG and 3D games in particular).

You're basing people's opinions on if they played it or not, KH lovers. Yet, you have absolutly nothing to back up your interests  to those of us that did play it and still think it sucked, and IMO, sucked worse then it looked before I played it.

Your strongest arguement is: If you haven't played it, then you can rate it based on looks.

My arguement to that: So, Disney=kiddy right? Well, coms for God Of War had blood in it, but because it's a com, I'm safe to assume gore won't come with it?

I obviously meant KH2, which means Kingdom Hearts 2. Famitsu is like, THE most harsh videogames magazine. There were only five games with a perfect rating, and Kingdom Hearts 2 got close to perfect.

Videogame, Movies, Music critics...they´re always 500% wrong. Talking badly or talking nicely about the target. Doesn´t matter if it is Famistsu, Famicon, Gamespot, MTV...they´re always wrong. When they´re right, someone always dies for that (world disorder).

It´s subjective...we´re actually discussing something that shouldn´t be discussed: taste. In Brazil we say: "Taste is not discussable" (<---crappy translation). And that's actually true, everyone have different opinions.
