What does everyone beleive about politics, and I don't mean stuff like "Bush Sucks" and "I hate republicans" or "Go Nater". I mean what do you like in a govenrment. All I am I guess, is im an Imperialist. I beleive that the leader of a country should contstinly try to expand.

All I know is that the new Prime Minister of Canada's name begins with an H, ends with an R and is 6 letters long...

I guess I'm a moderate. I have a friend who is pretty close to being facist in his views.

I believe democracy is good, so long no one gets corrupt. Communism has potential, but almost never works because almost nobody can handle that kind of power and wealth without abusing it at some point. Fascist is just...rascism. Imperialism is good, except when something else is needed other that expansion, such as lowering homelessness or abolishing hunger and helping internationally.

Being Canadian, all I say is "don't get corrupt, eh!"

(yes, we Canadians actually do say Eh; not just some random stereotype.)

That stereotype only applies to Canada but not in Québec. Yeah. Politic is something I'd rather remain out of. It's boring and nobody gives a damn about it anyway, atleast in Québec, lol.

Facism isn't racism. They are two different things. Facism is an iron-fist, militaristic type of government.

Meh I voted NDP.
Although they are practically communists, they're the best we've got.

Politics aye? Can't say I have much to say about that. Really don't care about it as long as we have our freedom. Fascism is ok at crisis moments *cough*BattlestarGalactica2003*cough*.

Politics? I'm sure that there's a perfect political system out there, but since humans are flawed, we'll never achieve it. Now, if we had COMPUTERS running our governments...

Talking about politics is like talking about Bowser--no matter how many years go by, it never changes. Someone's always corrupt (check: Rome Empire, what Bush is doing now, etc), and it's always in someone's advantage. And as for computers ruling the world...uh...how about 'no'? I mean, haven't you seen the movies? Computers are cut-and-dried--no emotion there. If the people are hungry, they'd recommend killing them. That's worse than a tyrant.

I'm pro-democracy. We need another president like JFK, in my humble opinion--I've heard no crud about him, except that he let Marilyn Monroe into his room ;).

Still, lets face facts. No matter what, any political party--be it facist, democratic, or whatever, always has one guy at the top (president, uh...what the facist leader is called, etc). All that power goes to his head, no matter what happens. It's just a matter of time. And, come on! Even in Democracy, presidents are always giving out promises,  and they never keep them!!!  Case in point, the war in Irak.

I know people aren't going to take this seriously, but take a look at Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In one scene, there's a guy telling Authur that there's no king--the people are all doing the work, and settle everything in bi-weekly meetings. They chose someone to be leader of the meetings for two weeks, etc. I know, its sorta like Democracy, but it sounds pretty good! Unfortunantly, it's only possible for small populations.

There's another flaw with that. Somebody has to control that computer--you know, maintenance and stuff. He could program that computer to his will.

I got a little hint: Uh...lets try not to fight over what party is better than the other. That's how wars get started, and that is extremely unnessicary.

That is the final goal of Communism. To paraphrase my European History textbook: A whithering away of the state will occur, ending all corruption, violence, ... (blah blah blah bad stuff goes away, utopian society...). Democracy will prevail on the local level.

It is a good idea, but as you said, power goes to the head of the ruler, and they lose sight of the long term and greater good in favor of their own power. It is a fault of humanity.

As for what you said abot emotionless compueters, have you ever seen 2001: A Space Odyssey? haha.

Communism sucks. Everything is equally distributed among everyone, sounds good, but its not. A doctor would make the same as someone who works at mcdonalds. What insentive would there be to be a doctor then? No one will want to go into that field. And with communism, all production is controlled by the state, meaning there will
be very little variety in products, there will be fewer inovations, and everything will be crap. Take russia for example when it used to be communists, they had two varieties of cars to choose from, both sucked.

My views on politics, they suck. 90% of the time, politianers, senators, etc, have their own personal motives. Some city in calafornia sold their water rights to private companies so that they would get more money. They wouldn't even allow the people to vote against it. So now all the water there is 'owned' by a private organization who is looking to make a profit from something you need to live. It would be like paying someone to breath air.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not against government, because anarchy sucks too. Without government we wouldn't be able to own anything because it would get stolen. People could kill you without any consequence. Money would be worthless, and the only way to get food would be to grow it, steal it, or barter for it. And theres no saying that it won't get stolen or you won't get mugged.

Yeah, when not corrupt, domocracy is the best government we have come up with thus far.

In conclusion, I think politics suck.

What if the computers were in a room with no doors and 20-foot-thick diamond plated steel walls? But the computers thing was a joke, anyways; I wouldn't want machines totally running our world.

I would be in favor of a system where there was a government to take care of all the stuff that governments do, but towns and sections of cities would basically rule themselves democratically. Sort of like the old Greek city-states, but with everyone participating, not just the men.

Never said I liked it, just said that, in theory, it was similar to Djanki's point. I absolutely hate politics.

HAL becomes a starchild? I gotta start reading those books.
