LW your stuff looks like its getting better but i suggest more shading on the samurai guys you did for him. They look flat.
Eh the gun from the side looked a lil weird to me so i felt like spicing it. Idk i think it looks better but thats probably because i did it. Plus i did it cause i was bored.

Well as far as my shading goes, since i use paint i first define a color range for each of the colors. Using highs and lows (lights and darks). If u look on this one samurai guy i was playing around with tonight, u can see that on the top right, there is a color scale for each of the colors i have used on it. As for shading itself. Just take a look at others peoples charsets. See where they put the high lights and where they put the shadows, and just play around with it until it starts to look right.
