Yeah, whenever I try to make a serious game, it ends up being boring to me. I like nice cheerful settings with a more lighthearted theme. However, most of my games in the past were in Medieval settings, oddly enough. I don't have them anymore so...

Yes, I know, default menu system. I'm just showing this to show the new symbols I made (Changed every symbol in the exfont). Despite there being weapon materials, you don't need to forge anything, just equip it. Same with weapon properties, armor materials and armor properties.

Pretty cool. You should probally put a space between the icon and the name of the item though. On some of them, it looks like the icon is connected to the name.

Cool statue. I'd probally put a few rocks here and there to adjust the plainness of the ground. That, to me, looks like a room where a cutsceen would take place. One of the things that irks me during games are cutsceens that take place in really plain areas.

Most images use the (IMG)(/IMG) {replace ( with [ and ) with ] } code, but for images larger than a screenshot, I use (img src=LINK) but replace ( with < and ) with >.

Since I'm not to sure about the Game Making Contest, I've decided to just wait and work on it a while longer.
So I made this concept screen. Linkforce already saw it and liked it. I'm not too sure about the mapping, and it'll probably change soon. The map is bigger ingame, and the graphics overall look better ingame.
Hopefully I can finish this. XD

The overlay kinda hurts to look at. Make it lighter or something.
EDIT: By lighter, I mean more transparent.
As to the recently posted movie, that's cool. The abilities and stuff could make for some interesting dungeons. The movie itself was bland though, seeing as there wasn't much purpose in it other than showing the three skills.

Edit: I mean, I admit the screenshot is a little hard to look at, but the overlay is too important to change. It's not that there is a big, shiny light coming from the mermaid. It's that without the mermaid you cannot see, at alll... It's an important part of the game.
I've made several overlays, and done a lot of tests throughout the day. This is the one I've settled on. If my beta-testers have complaints too, only then I'll change it.
