Again, Ignore the Map.

I'm just trying out a lighting effect. I don't have photoshop or any proffesional programs so I'm kind of proud of this. The light was made with Paint, Idraw, and the trial version of Ultimate Paint.

I know it's not realistic right now. Would it bother you if there were lights like this?

They had lighting effects like that in Sword of Mana in the last dungeon, and it was pretty cool. However. if you're going to make a temple like that, the best thing to do would be to mix in darkness and light. You should have patches of darkness in there as well, when the map is completed that is.

The map is too big to attach.

This is the main map of my Untitled game. It occurs in the same land as NFT (which was deleted by McAffee.  _veryangry_ ) However, it has a different plot.

I know that some chips have different shades of grass. I'll fix that sooner or later.

I have to ask, because of so many blank spots, what should I put in them? I've run out of ideas.

Edit: I forget to mention, but the world map is only used for teleportation, you just select a location the arrow (still yet to be put in) then you teleport to that map.

You can only teleport to castles or a teleporter. There are a few exeptions, though, like Sunset village and one of the trader camps, which have teleporters in them.

Pretty sweet.  Seems a little crowded, though.  Personally, I would make larger islands and space the towns/cities out a bit more.  But, I'm a n00b, so what I think isn't really important in this kinda thread.

In this thread, you're not a noob, you're a future downloader! And nothing matters more than the satisfaction of a future downloader. That leads to more downloads.  :D

Your comment will be taken into consideration.

Sweet!  This is even better than real life!  :D  Well, I'm glad at least one of my ideas matter.

By the way, I'll try and post some screenshots from my project when I get the chance, anyone who cares.

Dude.... that world map lets you move... what.... 32 pixels before the next town or castle? It's ok looking for a RTP/Rudra combo, but it's really, horridly over crowded.

*Smacks head* I forget to state that it's just a teleportation main map. You don't walk around and enter regions, you just select the location with your arrow, then you go to that map. That's why you are all saying it's too crowded. You all think it's one of those where you walk around and enter caves and such. :blue-eye:

The scale for the map is 1 square = 1 mile.

@Aboustasoandthis: Your lighting is great! Could you PM me how you did that? I have a balcony in my Chaos temple that could use that kinda effect.

Uh, I made a tutorial about that in my Mapping Tut on page 5. Reading that might save you and About some time.

Don't listen to him. Unlike him, I didn't use Photoshop. I even think my lighting looks better. :D First draw a black and white image of where you want to show your light like an overlay. Then, just get any image program that can blur  your image. Ultimate Paint is a nice free one. Then import your picture and show it at twice the brightness.

My lighting looks super better then yours, and it takes less time (probally at any rate, as mine doesn't require me to draw anything)

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I ask for your opinion? I-I can't seem to remember...

Besides, I don't use Photoshop. Do you think Ed has it if he asked me instead of you?
