I'd get rid of that light flash in the menu. It's a little hard to read. I'd get the font fixed too. Maybe...an extra way out for the receptionist. Other than that.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting rid of the light flash. I use it in the character menus in my cbs, but a sprite is layed over it, so it looks cool. I wanted it to match that, but I think it'll be best if I take it out.

DB: The problem with the font is the pixel space between letters. Sometimes it's one, sometimes it's two, and I think I even saw three in one place. That's ok if it's supposed to be between the words, but it doesn't appeal very much if it's between the letters in a word.

What have you done that I already haven't? I was the first to post maps with lighting effects. I was the first to post maps with the water effects. It doesn't matter if you had them before I posted them or not, because you didn't post them before me. This means I had no way of knowing, or taking for that matter, your ideas.

To be supportive and kind, with a few adjustments it'll be great!

Here's my attempt. Hope it helps.

A really old screenshot of mine. Sad that I'm not using it. Hope you can see through the darkness.


To start an indoor room, use the black box tiles for the roof. Draw the outside of your indoors.

Next, put in the walls. I usually do three tiles going up to touch the roof. Next put in the floors.

If you plan to make stairs indoors, be careful. It could look a little out of proportion. Make all the levels match.

To start, I'd check Meiscool's Dos and Don't of Mapmaking Guide. It's a wonderful guide. If you can find em, I'd check Robotam's guides too. Just remember to try keep stuff in proportion. Make sure as much as possible makes sense. Put in lots of detail. Like Meis and I were fussing over (I think), make sure nothing clashes. That shouldn't be a problem with one chipset.

But err, I'm using the defult font. Its not something I can really 'fix'...
