Oh, coasterkrazy, they actually look nice even though they're really "straight" looking. What's better is that you posted an actual screenshot instead of a map.

Fine, be that way! >_<

Hehe, j/k. I never really cared for it either. The one on the right isn't too bad though. It's more of a prehistoric mountain-esque tile rather than a jungle, though. Which would make sense, seeing as that's what it is in the game. :p

I'm not a fan of XP but I'll say something.

The dialogue in the first screen is wierd. Plus, the sky looks strange with the flat building like that.

However, the second screenshot is very attractive for some reason. The background fits. I'd only tint the hero if it's possible.

My pokemon bring all the nerds to the yard, and they're like you wanna trade cards? Darn right, I wanna trade cards, I could trade this, but not my charizard.

As I look at it, it does seem out of place...the dialogue, I mean.
It explains how his brother and sister was killed by a TEK-bot...You'll see.

I had a building as part of the panorama...but the building looked like a gate. So, I covered it up.

I am pretty sure I can tint the hero.
Though, that isn't a charset. They are both pictures.
I'll see what I can do.

EDIT:
There we go...All better.

Hmm? Do you mean just attach that one? Yeah, I probably should've done that but oh well. If no one wants to right click and go to view image, then they don't have to.

Dren: Lol I knew that comment was coming up no matter what I said. Well my friend said he doesn't care, so that's all that really matters to me right now. I just wanted to post something on here and get some feedback, as I'm trying to improve my mapping skills. And if it still bugs you, got anything I could use? :p

Dragoon: I like the style of those screens, but as aboutaso said, the first background looks flat. Other than that, I think they really stand out. You seem to be using XP the way it was meant to be used, especially with that charset.

I don't really like XP, so I won't make comments on that.

CK: You should unstraighten some of your cliff faces, but make sure that they don't hinder the player's area of walking. I make that mistake a lot :eyes:

Gael: Nice. Probally the best use I've ever seen with that chip.

I finished the "Bog". I started with the intention of making it a forest village... but after having so much water, and having the area supposed to the most magical place in the game, I desided to make it reflect the whole "magic" thing and have it be a floating island with limitless water XD.

Ugh! I just wrote a whole post about that bog and it got deleted! Basically what I said is that I think it's awesome except I think there are too many waterfalls. I think the waterfalls hinder the look of the sides of the island, and make it look too much as if there's no support ground under the island.

About my map, I was kind of thinking the same thing after I made it. To be honest, it was really that I got lazy switching back and forth between layers, and I can't plan ahead well enough to do all of one layer like that first. :p

Even a floating island has something under it. Most islands like that pyramid on the bottom. Unless the bottom is completely flat.
