I'm currently making a game and I've been using the resources on this site very freely so I thought I might as well post about it on the forums.

The Cliche Plot

The King of Dahlia, King Clover, was a great king who supported the lands and his people. There were no peasants as there were no such thing as taxes and they were brought the people food at his own expense. Not as much could be said about his son though. He thought his father a fool for draining their gold for these "lowly scum." He was completely opposed to his father's "non-sense" and saw that he must be stopped or the kingdom would be reduced to nothing.
King Clover was assasinated and his son, King Clover II, took over. He replaced the towns on his island, he so cleverly named Clover Island, with giant rat ridden complexes. Houses were reduced to small rooms, and to controll the population he left noone to guard the complexes but the citizens themselves so the animals would ravage the cities when they will it. Those who have weapons and armor wear it to defend themselves. The complexes are quickly spreading amongst the lands and Clover is setting up armies of mechanical soldiers to take over the lands and the only ones who are opposing him is the rather meager Rebelion and the rather hard headed King Falbiar. Who can stop this carnage? Is there some sort of cliche brave hero out there? Is there a princess too? Sadly, no. All we have is Moroco, the idiotic, egomaniacal, ***hole.

The Dumb Characters

Moroco

Age : 26
Weapon : Swords, Spears, Knuckles...
Bio: Abandonned by his parents at the age of 5 he had to fend for himself. It wasn't soon till he became a drunken ***hole. One day on his way to the local bar he gave his house keys to a neighbor of his, Newman, to make sure he doesn't loose them. It's not very surprising he gets too drunk and ends up getting kicked out on the streets. He wakes up and goes to his house to find out that Newman left the complex to go to a great supernatural mountain and Moroco, being the moron he is, decides that he should chase after Newman to retreive his keys, yet does he know the horrible adventure awaiting him. Though he should really expect it.

Leyra and Korul

Ages : 24 and 32
Weapons : Whip and Trident
Bios: Leyra and Korul met at a bar one knight and in their drunken stupor decided to start their own gang of pirates called the Korul Pirates, Korul being the captain. The first year was spent doing petty deeds like stealing candy from babies and babies from candy until they felt they needed to be known so they decided to pull a huge heist involving the gold in Clover Castle. They needed help getting past the guards so they went around asking if anyone wanted to help until you-know-who stumbles upon them. With Moroco's help they steal the treasure and in exchange let him have some gold and give him a lift only to be captured, imprisoned, and most-likely turned into zombies. Oh well, they sucked anyway.

Mr. Chingpow

Age: 30
Weapon: Bows
Bio: The asian residence of Clover's continent was widely ridiculed by the King and to further the stereotype he made sure they all had a funny accent and weared and looked exactly the same just for his pleasure. He made sure you couldn't even tell the men from the women. Mr. Chingpow works at a machinery in Ching Ching Town and seeks to be different. When Moroco turns up to get a new boat engine he joins him, in his quest to be different, much to his dismay.

Ricardo

Age: ??
Weapon: Banjo-rang
Bio: Oh where do I begin. I hope I don't offend someone here... Ricardo is an ebonics speaking Black Mage who has an Irish accent and on some occasions, speaks spanish. It is isn't very clear just what nationality he is, but he is most likely the smartest of the bunch. But that's not saying too much.

Soccum

Age: 46
Weapon: Gun
Bio: An old veteran who used to be honor bound and once saved a whole fleet from the incoming forces. That was until his town was zapped and his family and freinds were all killed. He soon turned into a drunken idiot, even moreso than Moroco. His brain is deteriorated from all the drinking and it's best not to get on his bad side because he's a tank. When Moroco comes to him asking for directions to the supernatural mountain it turns out something on the mountain zapped his town, and he's out for revenge.

Newman

Age: ??
Weapon: ??
Bio: He was once awarded the good neighbor award and helped anyone in need. He always suppressed his anger so a great cliche darkness built up inside of him. It was all dormant until Moroco moved in next to him. Moroco released this anger and he turned evil and became bent on destroying Moroco.

BTW your face graphics don't match at all. I say pic one style and stick with it.

In the game therad doesn't mater. You don't HAVE to first post in TnW. You just cant in Rquests.

Anyway, here's some screens if anyone cares.

Don't worry about them, you've done nothing wrong. Your maps are better than most. Not the greatest I've seen, but atleast they're not bad. Right in the middle.

The first map seems choppy in some parts, like the waterfall is good until the top and bottom. It'll also be cooler if you added a spray effect at the bottom.

The second maps seems a little too empty, but the walking through water effect is cool.

The world map is... idk, just kinda odd...

[Lighting Half Dozen]

Well, the first two look good, but the third is just a tight maze, and it'll be inposibvle to anvigate through quickly, with allt he turns every two steps. And the walkign on water, yes, very cool.

I've seen it happen but I guess those people don't come here anymore. And the stupid thing is that I helped a kid whose first post was in the request forum (Simple request though).

Your maps are actually pretty good. They just need detail.

If you want the spray effect like drenrin2120 said, you can get it and a bunch of other cool effects at gamingw.net if you don't already have it.

The first one has nice leveling, and it's just nice to look at.

The second map could use some levels like the first map and some more Second Layer Tiles.

The world map isn't that bad. The colors look nice, but I would get rid of the gray RTP stalagmites. They don't match the rest of the chipset. + I'm pretty sure that chipset has levels and levels can look nice for a world map.

Yeah, like he said, if you're looking for water effects, do there.

Also, if you need help with water effects, I got a tight little ripple script that I use in my game if you wanna copy it. Here's a picture of what it sorta looks like:

You did put in a water effect that matches the size of the waterfall. You also put in a flowing rock animation. Good job. I'd put in an effect when the water first begins to fall. The charset should have bubbling looking things with two white things under it: one white one blue.

The ripple effect is cool too cause I got it in my game. If you don't already know, it's an On Hero Touch Event, Below Hero, event where you use Move Event to change the way it faces.

For the other graphics. I really don't like the System Set. It hurts my eyes with the yellow text. Plus I'd say use your games charasets instead of those sized battle characters.

I'm slow. The jump seen is funny. ROFL+LOL+However the hell you say it!

Yeah, I've been meaning to tell you in the screenshot thread that you used that wrong. That should be at the bottom of the waterfall, not at the start. I know these are short waterfalls, but this is what I mean:
