RTP Children Edits Now on My Webpage

UPDATE (Feb 24, 2007):
Haven't made new kids in months--may not make new kids for months yet, either. Got other stuff going on. But I thought I'd put the kids up on my webpage, and therefore give you a place to find them all in one spot, and move any bandwidth consumption over to my pretty dead site instead of Charas-Project.
Don't expect page updates frequently, but eventually I do plan to put more resources up on my page. Anyway, here it is:
http://www.geocities.com/kilyle.geo/Craft/Games/Resources/index.htm
(I don't have my site in the best of shape, but it's a sort of language resource hub, with various other bits that interest me, so explore it if you like. I intend to eventually put GameMaker tutorials up, but who knows how long it'll be before I get that together.)
UPDATE: Starting to get the hang of editing beyond cut-and-paste-and-troubleshoot. These latest clothes worked out pretty well, I think. I'm closer to my goal of getting a non-skipping kid.
These are edits of the RTP kids, giving them good hair and recolors based on other RTP characters. I'll be making more when I get the chance.
These are not strict copy-paste jobs. A few pixels here and there make niggling little defects that I have to correct. I got annoyed at this, and posted more information on this post, but now I've erased that because it's not really useful information.
Oh, and if anyone knows of a program that can help me switch between palettes (load a set of colors here, another set here, press a button, and presto-change-o, your blue-haired character now has purple hair)...please let me know. (Free would be nice. Free software would be nicer.)
Anyhoo, here goes:

BTW, the orange overalls have green shoes, which sets them off a little better than my first attempt.

Girl Minus Pigtails / Ponytails / Whatever

Lemme see, highlights:
1. Pink dress (based on candy-pink hair on the teenage girl in RTP char4).
2. Purple dress (based on purple hair). Dresses, by the way, have only five colors (on the girl, at least)--just ignore the shirt, which is the same on all the girls.
3. Yellow/gold dress (based on candy-pink girl's dress). I gave this one red shoes, but they're not distinct.
4. Taking the pigtails away took a slight bit of editing to avoid a squashed head; not bad, though.
ETA: I grew up with the idea that hair tied off to the back is a "ponytail" and hair tied off to the side (usually two, but sometimes just one) is a "pigtail." I don't think this was ever explained to me specifically, but that's the idea I got. Then I read somewhere, quite recently, that "pigtail" means a type of braid, and that hair tied off to the side, unbraided, is just a variation on "ponytail," even if there are two. Anyone around here who could give me more information?

Girls - Haircut B

Now we're getting somewhere. Most of the things I've worked with so far in RTP have six or seven colors; this black haircut had at least eight (at one point, I thought nine, but now I think that I counted the darkest one twice). That means that I had to lose some of the graduation when moving to a seven-color palette. I paid attention to the similarity of the colors, so the pattern isn't consistent (as to which colors got merged).
I have noticed that this girl's haircut is not consistent: Her forehead is bare in the front view (on one side) but not on the side view. I worked out an alternate side view but haven't finished the sheet for it yet; I'll post it soon. Also I'll have two sheets without that floppy ponytail, so you'll have plenty of choice with this one.
Once I've finished at least eight sheets of the girl (or of the boy), I'll recombine by either color (eight haircuts, all blue) or "best choice" of each sheet. Probably both, actually. So, if you think that a particular haircut goes better with one particular color scheme than with the rest of the sheet, post that suggestion (e.g., "The 'no pigtails' haircut looks best in that sky-blue-orange with pink-purple polka dots color scheme").

As above (the ponytail one), but with the forehead clear on the left side (as it is in the forward view), and the bangs pushed forward a bit on both side views.

As above, but without the ponytail. I'm debating about re-editing these for the sideview back-of-head, because a couple pixels there, which were in the original, seem out of place when there's no ponytail.

A few odd pixels...not sure where they came from. I think I got them all, but if you find an error, let me know so I can fix it and re-post.

Pirate Girls

I'm going to redo these from scratch when I get around to it...too many things went wrong as I was doing them, and I think there are likely problems that I can't see. Colors out of place, or whatever.
But at any rate, they look fine...I think. These would be for pirate kids, or maybe a gang...or just girls who like bandanas because their hair is so darn big. (I thought about editing the hair to make it less abundant...might do that some day.)
Are these edits useful to someone? I haven't heard a word since my last thread. Hmm.
Oh, and the black dress is new (a recolor I haven't done before, I mean), and I changed the shirt to purple shadows instead of blue shadows.

Yay! Feedback!!
Are there any specific RTP chars you'd like me to work on next? I figure I might get to all of them eventually, but if there's a specific one someone needs, let me know.
Oh, and I'll be working on new clothes and/or walking animation when I get to it, which I hope is soon, because that skipping bugs me.
