People think i write to many games. I agree.
Story
The discovery of the valuable aura bells brought a new age to the world. One of magic, prosperity, and war. The powerful artifacts, the bells could be used to manipulate all forms of nature. For years, a battle was fought between all nations for control over the bells.
When the fighting stopped, the greatest and most powerful Psychic bells were placed under heavy guard in the palace of the Audame Capital City, and kept hidden from those who seek to use their power for evil.
Sixteen years later…
The wise elder of Shammar appeared in the home of Helo Godsun, a young aspiring sailor. He quickly left without a word, leaving a strange box behind. Helo could not open it, and so he took it to his friend Clous, who was strong enough to open anything.
However, this box was different, and gave them both a bad feeling. The next morning, disaster struck Shammar, and a band of thieves raided the city, searching for something.
When the elder approached Helo and Clous with an amass of bells around his neck, he quickly dispatched of them, leaving them unconscious. When they awoke, the strange box was open, and empty.
The acts of the elder were kept secret. The city council chose the two boys, Clous and Helo, to investigate is betrayal. The leader of the city gifted them with a bell, one that the raiders left behind to ensure that if the two travelers did not find them, their antagonists would.
Now on the outer walls of Shammar, Helo and Clous must search for the elder before he finds the Psychic Bells, and learns to manipulate the minds of the emperors and kings of the world, taking control of it once and for all.

Not nature per say, but the wearer has a different power for each bell, and you can only equpit one bell to each charecter. One idea is poison gaurd, others are the abbilty to uhm... sigh...
the more i talk about it, the more i just want to end my game making career. i'm sure people will like the idea, but with me NEVER EVER getting good graphics, or graphics period, i'm bound to just sulk around this thread for a few days.
I have so much talent in writting, if only i could find a few guys to do all the graphics for me. You think it is interesting, drenrin, cause i don't. I really don't want to make this game, but i can't stop pumping out ideas because my true big hit blockbuster game is in my mind, and probabbly on my computer, but there are no graphics...

You need to be more stubborn. If you have a game that you want to make soooo badly, then stick with it. It's hard, but hey, you gotta sweat a little. The graphics are out there, you just gotta look for them, and if you have to, do some edits. That's what I've done.

Alright then, time to kick it off! Ladies and gentelement, meet the new and improved...hm...can't xall myself Kairou or L6 anymore...so...
I am not one person. I am...
Okay, let's go with Kairou.
The game that i have always wanted maybe be cliche. It may use the classic elements, but hey so do a lot of hit games.
So, now i am doing a call for anyone who is willing to join me in this new adventure. PM me, cus i wont be readign this thread ever again.
Bells. Heh. What was i thinking.

It actually sounds pretty good.
Like dren said, be stubborn. The more you work at something, it becomes more natural, and you get better. I used to suck at rpg maker. For two years, I didn't even know what a switch was. But anyway, I kept going at it, then BAM, one day, things just started going better.

I would listen to these two. It just takes practice and diligence. For Dragonblaze it was the switch, and for me it was the variable.
If you're shooting for comepletion I'd finish the storyline comepletely first. If you can do that, you have a guideline about what you need to do without having to make stuff up out of the top of your head. I like this storyline. Either work with this good idea, or come up with something better.
If you need graphics for you're game, start with what's out there, and build your setting around that.
Let's say your game's world was set during the Industrial Revolution. You would use FF6 graphics because that game had a world during that time.
Let's say you wanted a Medievil Europe with lots of magic. You could use Seiken Densetsu (I hope I spelled that right) 3.
If you wanted your game to be set in Spain or something, you would use some Rudra's Treasure graphics.
I want my game to be half realistic looking+half a reminder of FF6 without actually using FF6 graphics. So I'm using Theodore's realistic graphics, with bits and peices of Star Ocean, and Bahamut Lagoon Graphics.
Some of the best games out there started with what they had instead of trying to make new graphics. Remember the Coffins in the Mac & Blue (REFMAP) chipsets? The game Ara Fell used all Mac & Blue and built the story around vampires. FFEndless Nova used Cat People because those charasets already existed. Legion Saga (While a rip-off of Suikoden) used the Dog People because they already existed.
Start with what's out there first. That's all I can say.
I hope this little speech helped. I like this storyline.

My pokemon bring all the nerds to the yard, and they're like you wanna trade cards? Darn right, I wanna trade cards, I could trade this, but not my charizard.

That is the best advice ever.
So...just as the Magic: The Gathering game used its imags to build the story, i should use graphics that already exist and make a story out of those...
Well now, i think i have some work to do...

Well I wouldn't base your story on graphics you find. Come up with a basic story, then you can model it and refine it based on what graphics you have avalible.
