Its been a long time since I posted, my pc has been awkward but it gave me time to really think about where to go with my game
so without further ado...

Twilight Horizons - Afterlife

A great war has raged out between the nations.
The war has caught many people off guard causing mass hysteria as bombs rain down on unsuspecting homes.
The sheer devastation of the war has killed many people, so many that the nations leaders were forced to conscript soldiers into the army.

As the war raged on, the nations began to devise sinister plots.
Assassination attempts and using bio-weaponry, causing outbreaks of deadly viruses to kill civilians.
But when one of the nations decided that science was not enough, they delved deep into ancient caverns and temples to locate the most powerful weapon yet - magic.

Magic had been a breakthrough in power and special squads were gifted to be the first ones to learn magic, the leader of the very first squad was named - Kjin Koe.
He was tought magic before anyone else and by the time magic was understood, became the most powerful weapon of the nation.

The nation began to train mages in the dark arts and, once ready, sent out an army of magic users against the unsuspecting
rival, the magic users crushed the opposition within a few weeks, but on their final appraoch to the capital, the opposition revealed that they too had dived into the forbiddon realm of sorcery.
The demon summoners used their magic to call forth creatures from another world that were highly magical and resistant to most spells, but it seemed that magic could be more unpredictable than the nations could imagine.

At the front of the mage army, Kjin Koe unleased his true ability.
He used a spell that literally crushed and flattened all those around him by pulling them into a dark orb of energy.
Unfortunately he didn't predict the scale of his attack and he destroyed everyone in the nation including himself.
It is said that he vanished of the face of the planet.

But recently, pieces of history have been discovered that depict devastation around different time periods involving cities mysteriously disappearing and random plagues infecting villages
as well as magic tools and traces of an unkown man making his way into the ancient temples.

As ancient overseers of the world ponder about what could have caused such sudden distruption to the timeline, a stranger appears from darkness and is found unconcious by some ruins about 800 years before the chaos begins.
As the overseers watch, they begin to notice papers scattered accross the world that tell of a story that seems to mirror the ensuing turmoil as if something is directing destiny through words.

Daisuke Opening:

"Where am I?"

"Is this all real?"

"I can hear my own thoughts..."

"Where...."

Daisuke Silverwing finds himself in a void, he sees nothing and hears nothing but his own thoughts, not even a heartbeat.
He can't remember anything.
He turns his head but still cannot see, but somehow, he can tell that something is watching him; somewhere in the darkness.

*Asuka Opening* - NEW

Wake up Asuka!
The words pierced like a thorn. Asuka woke up from a deep sleep, her eyes adjusting to the bright light, she sees her rescuer, none other than the town hero Daisuke Silverwing.
She picks up a nearby log and holds it between her and the protagonist.
She never trusted him, ever since he appeared, there'd always been an aura of danger about him, she wanted nothing to do with it and backed away.
Confused, Daisuke backs away too. Asuka shuns him and walks off.
Daisuke leaves a couple of days later quite suddenly but only after a few hours of his departure, the town of Drais is violently attacked.
Asuka picks up any weapon she can find and desperately prepares to defend her family from a sinister force.

This is just the beginning of the game and hopefully I'll have the demo ready soon

There should be a CBS but I'm still trying to work on some glitches. I'm also deciding if I should give you a choice on whether or not you even want a CBS because it would take a while to make the whole game with CBS and the whole game with DBS.

Info: Daisuke doesn't know much
about himself, he can't remember anything
and he isn't sure what he's doing but someone
has to know him, so he's looking for that someone
even if he doesnt know their name or what they
look like.
As protagonist of story 1, he is of course the most
important character as even story 2 begins with him.
His sudden appearance causes him memory loss
so at the start he seems blank and uninteresting.
As the story progresses and his importance increases,
he is thrown around, getting scared and desperate. The attacks on his mental health causes him to be an unforgiving frustrated person with little tolerance for other people.
This personality soon builds walls that distances him from
his companions until he is left alone and decides to work on
his aggresive nature.

Age: 17
Gender: Female
Weapon: Ancestral sword
Weapon type: Katana
Info: Asuka is a shy girl and has a job in harvesting
rice, her life changes when a demon appeared before
her, and attacks her, she screamed out as the demon
struck at her, but she was safe and the demon was gone
and where it stood there lay a strange crystal formation
which glowed demonically, she reached out to touch it
but it vanished. She was never sure what truly
happened and researched into it, however her research
was stopped when a young man with silver hair arrived at her town bringing chaos she never wanted.
As protagonist of story 2, her role also increases with importance.
Shy and nervous at her sudden thrust into a world of chaos,
Asuka has troubles controlling her feelings and sometimes
collapses crying.
When Daisuke begins to show an improvement in his persona,
Asuka also decides to work on her flaws, trying to become strong and soon learns (as much as she would deny it) that she is infanctuated with the new improved Daisuke

Fenn Gykin:
Age:23
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Weapon: Orion
Weapon type: Sword
Info: During Fenn's time period, he is an ex-knight of the king.
He's a wanted criminal for killing another knight
while protecting his brother who was about to be killed.
His brother went missing after the civil war and Fenn
is trying to find him in case the king had captured him.
Fenn acts brave, but is never sure where his life is going, whether searching for his brother will really bring him happiness.
With his hot-headed personality and misguided life, he is subject to sudden burts of anger and with the most confidence sometimes leads the party onward.

Lukas:
Age:??
Gender: Male
Species: ??
Weapon: Farsight
Weapon type: Runeblade
Info: There seems to have been no history on Lukas until 500 years after the great war. It tells that Lukas became one of the ancient kings top agent. Lukas' past is a mystery, theres no information on it. He seems to have appeared from nowhere.
The reason he suddenly became so important is thus far unkown.

CBS Features
the cbs will be both abs and tbs depending on a choice made at the beginning, after the choice is made, you are unable to change your choice.
ABS-At the moment, it is four directional, it has sprites for attack, spells, death, status effects and specials.
TBS-Not yet made.

Other Side quests: (These are special secrets that will help you complete the game at 100%, this full completion unlocks a little prize at the end.)

The Magic Tomes-
Find the magic tomes of artwork and writing then gain their powers.
Each tome is protected by spirits within the pages,
defeat all the spirits and gain the greatest of elemental attacks.

The Book of Rememberance-
The pages that appear throughout time depicting the events of the story.
There are pages found after you beat bosses that are required for the story, however, there are secret pages that can be found giving extra information of the main character.

Secret Bosses-
There are a number of secret bosses that give you special items and some of them are needed for the book of rememberance.

At times like this I wonder how every starting project can have almost no story, no talk about what the game is going to be about, no references to possible new features and/or systems that make it unique, definately no screenshots... yet already have detailed biographies for no less than three characters.

Seriously. I'm not trying to be a jerk (okay, maybe I am a little bit) but this is little more than biographies for three random characters that don't seem connected. This is the Games forum; tell us about the game!

Dude. He should totally be blind and deaf in the real game. It'd totally set him apart from every other RPG main character I've ever seen.

Well ok, I've updated it, I was more or less planning to reveal the plot as the game went by but I see your point.
As for images, I'm gonna try and get some from the game in the next few days.

Ok question, you say you might have a cbs? What features will this cbs have or what will it be like?

Well by cbs, I meant abs and by dbs i meant tbs.
The abs will have four direction movement, I cant do eight direction movement and trust me I've tried.
The only problem with the abs is the spells, I can;t really work out how to do them.

The tbs will use the character sprites, it wont be the dbs, I havn't started working on it yet, but I'm hoping I won't encounter any problems, if I do I'll ask for help.

The only help I need so far is using spells with the abs.

Ah, but as any good writer could tell you, good story is driven by great characters. *shameless tut plug! woot!* I think the goal here was more of a little taste. Gee golly, if you want plot and nifty features, all of them at once, hold your horses 'til the demo comes out.
Anywho. Sounds intriguing thus far, other than the whole "magic is scary" stuff....... that's a bit tired. Make sure to be innovative with that, not just "Magic is scary, but I'm special-er than you, so I can do it, bi-atch!"

Magic isn't the main part of the game, nor is it scary, it just shows how they went back to the old ways to beat each other.

My pc has been down for a long time so progress has been on hold for a while,  but as a small update, there is another main character with a different storyline to play as, but you may have to unlock her
