Midi troubles in Rm2k3

I just got back on RM2K3 after several years of taking a break, I decided to finish my original project. So lately I started working back on it, found my original storyline and whatnot. Anyways everything was working dandy until last night I was working on it, and suddenly my midis stopped working.

Going more in deph to the problem. my MP3 format songs work perfectly fine, but my midi files do not play in RM2K3 inside the game, or just while working on my project, but do still work in windows media player.

Is there any way to fix the problem? I thought maybe it was because I recently updated my windows media player, so I downgraded back to 10 and that didn't fix the problem. Help if you can, much appreciated. Thanks~.
