Final Fantasy: Reign of Poltergeist

Yes, another Final Fantasy fangame! Yes, but don't please yell at me. Here is some facts about the game:

- No CBS or CMS
- Monsters from FF4, FF5 and FF6
- Musics from various Final Fantasy games
- Over 50 hours gameplay (Demo takes 18 hours, yes, awesome!)
- Eight playable characters
- Four secret bosses
- World map's size: 500 x 500
- Over 50 cities

Character are:

Rodan - Swordsman
Weapon: Sword

And the summons are now called "Gaions". Here is a list of all Gaions.

- Ifrit: Fire
- Shiva: Ice
- Ramuh: Thunder
- Titan: Earth
- Leviathan: Water
- Alexander: Holy
- Magus Sisters:
- Bahamut: Holy, Earth
- Typhoon: Air

The best Gaion is Dream Stooges, like in Endless Nova. And there is a couple of more Gaions (They are secret). The secret bosses are:

- Gamma Weapon
- Alpha Weapon
- Delta Weapon
- Atma Weapon

And the secret secret boss is Omega Weapon.

I use Roco facesets too and have made some expressions for the main characters in my game, so I might be able to help you with a few of them.

- Over 50 cities

WHOA! Be careful there! My game takes place mostly in cities. I have *counts* 12 cities or towns right now, and I am having a heck of a time making them look and feel different. You really want to avoid "oh, another town, buy some new weapons, leave and never come back" syndrom.

wow this is sweet im a big fan myself of FF my game FFTNB (Final Fantasy The New Beginning) features FF characters 7-10 mabye you should cheak it out it may give you ideas

oh and BTW:  poltergeist is a movie (lol it was an ok movie)
actually its a ghost that manifests itself by noises, rappings, and the creation of disorder.

Yes... Storyline... It tells about the reign of poltergeist. Poltergeist was a good god in the beginning, and then he betrayed himself. Poltergeist became the ultimate god of darkness. Poltergeist has a servant clan named Chaos. They are a gang of black knights who keep things in order for darkness. They are unmerciless and everybody, who resists them, will have a quick death. So, they are kinda main villains in the game, but I still need ideas for the "cool" bad guy.

The Chaos members are:
- Arcel: A quick knight who has the dark power of thunder.
- Malekith: The leader of Chaos, who has the sword of eternal darkness.
- Gardosh: A fat knight who has the dark power of earth.
- Michiel: The "cool" guy of Chaos. He uses the dark power of air.
- Dastero: A knight who has the dark power of fire.
- Gaerth: Brother of Gareth (One of the main characters), who has the dark power of water.

Ok, and the story continues...

One day, Chaos attacks to the peaceful town of Tarthos, where our main character, Rodan, lives. Roden awakes and goes downstairs, and then he saw his father, advisor Gaer, a man, who disappeared years ago. Then, a terrible secret reveals... Gaer has always been a servant of Poltergeist, and he wants Rodan to join Chaos. Rodan refuses, and so a battle between Gaer an Rodan begins... Rodan wins, and Gaer disappears.Then, Fidrick, a royal knight saves Rodan from Chaos and they come to the village of Griza. There Fidrick tells a terrible truth about Poltergeist's plans...

Poltergeist is going to sacrifice the whole world to get Crystal, the origin of all life. With the Crystal, Poltergeist would ruin the world, and all kind of life disappears. And so Rodan's story begins. He has to free Gaia, the lifeform of the world. That is the only way, how Poltergeist would be defeated...

You like it? Yes, it is a bit of cliche, but I have made this game so far, that I CAN'T make it again...

Rodan:
Rodan is an eager fighter, and he fights all the way to the very ending. He has lived all his life at home, with his mother and father. Rodan finds hard to have any responsibility, but he becomes more responsible within the story. He's weapons are different kinds of swords.

Darche:
Darche is a calm and summoner from a rich family. She is very sensitive and not very strong, but she tries her best to the end. She uses staffs as weapons.

Fidrick:
Fidrick is a brave fighter from the city of Rigalia, the center of the world. He doesn't know anything about his family. He's always been training, training and training, and so he has become very shady. But later, he becomes more happy guy, and he and Rodan becomes good friends.

this sounds very interesting, to be frank. i see why RRWP's kinda furious with FF Fan games cuz they do have the potential to make original games. but well, i guess this should be FF because of the Summons and the Weapons. if it wasn't, then they'd say you ripped it off of FF

a year.. that means you're putting a lot of effort into this.

50 cities/town/villages is WAY too much, believe me. if i had to make something that's 50, it would be both cities and various dungeons. thing about it is there should be at least 5 cities that don't sell stuff.. cuz it's that much! lol.. maybe there's this place with weak stuff then later on in the game when, u get the best equipments there. that's what i'll do in mine =P cities that specialize in stuff. like.. some kind of customized armor.. like.. in a certain somewhere, you get a pair of cotton undies, but in another certain somewhere else, you get cotton undies that protect you against poison and such. gets? =P

btw, put in a lot of side quests and about 5 secret characters.. cuz of 50 cities.. whew.. and also, mini-games, etc etc.

and also, as RRWP said. More is more. Same goes for the gameplay. Longer is just simply longer, nothing more or less than that. if you make the game in a wrong step, then people would be playing 18 hours worth of crap. no, i'm not saying that your project is crap. i'm just telling you beforehand that if things don't go well, then you'll be wasting a year's time. get RRWP as a beta-tester (that is, if he doesn't mind) cuz i believe he will make very harsh suggestions. however, his suggestions really reflects what more serious gamers want to see. get another beta-tester as well. i don't wanna be it cuz i wanna save the excitement

I have thought about a new idea! How about a place named History Shrine or something?
I have thought about it something like this, that you can fight there with Golbez, Sephiroth, ExDeath, Kuja and all other bad guys! It is something like a Colosseum in Kingdom Hearts.
