Final Fantasy Crisis Core: Is it a good game?

I want to know if you guys have played it and if its as good as people say it is. It looks pretty cool but looks can be deceiving. I bought FF12 and even though it had good reviews and stuff, I found myself dissapointed and not entirely satisfied. So, I'm asking myself: Is Crisis Core worth my money (around $80)?

From what I've heard, it's good if you really dig the FFVII story line. Otherwise, it's pretty average.

What if you haven't played FF7? I think its a PS game and I don't have a PS, only a PS2 and when the game came out in 1997, I was only 3 years old and I didn't hear about the FF series until last year. (Yes, I've been living under a rock for the last 14 years of my life).

FF7 really isn't worth your time IMO, but there are others that would disagree. Some believe it is the best PS rpg out there.

Anyways, Crisis Core is not worth your money. I've seen people play it. It has cutscenes as frequently as MGS, it has little character customization, the level up system is utterly retarded, and the battles are the same thing over and over.

If you're looking for a good final fantasy and you have a psp, buy FF: The Lion Wars. Awesome game.

OMG. Did you just say that PS games work on PS2. I think that I have just died and gone to heaven. My cousin has a stack of old PS games sitting in his room and I've wanted to play them myself except I didn't have a PS and he wouldn't lend me his. Yeah, The Lion Wars is cool and I'm saving up money to buy it.

From what I saw and heard, it isn't worth it. Like Meiscool said, the Level-up system sucks ( it's like some kind of slot machine thing, or at least that's what I've been told ) and the battles too. Also, there's only one character and the mission thing is weird.
