The plot thus far

Davis:"Deepends on what you got I'm looking for a book
called Star Saga:Dark Fleet and any other Sci-fi  novels you might have.I also
need a Raido attena,as my freind can fix up my truck to transmit back home when i'm
out on the Dry Seas(I'll post a map of the area soon)."

[A Forgotten Legend]

Daniel looked out the two men outside the store.  He had never seen anyone driving a vehicle into town before.  In reality, he wasn't sure he had ever seen a vehicle that wasn't so run down it wouldn't start, except for the Dent's truck, but that thing is ancient.  He had be told of a time when cars were abundant and people drove everywhere.  Now though, you can only get diesel fuel, and actually getting it is rare.  The town only keeps a minimum supply.
"I wonder what they're talking about?" he says intrigued.
'...and only two more hours, and I'm off.' he thinks to himself. 'Maybe they'll still be there when my shift is over?' He hoped that he could possibly catch part of their conversation as he left the store. It was a Monday, so he only had to work until four in the afternoon.  Tomorrow he would close at seven.  'The joys of a job, yeah right.'  Just then, he realized he could just ask Davis.  Wow, he had completely forgotten it was Davis out there with him.  Where is Davis in the evening? Hm...

Davis looked though all the junk on the spread out cloth Rasta had placed them on.
His eyes lingered on a book with no title 'Thats weird. He thought.' "Whats this David said holding the
worn book up to Rasta's eyes. "I don't know,I found it in a shop on Eastside.The merchant who sold
it to me said it would be helpfull. "*Rasta laughed*"It's writen in a forign languge I don't understand.
You wan't it?"Rasta said eagerly. "Sure,why not?I know someone who might be able to read it."
Davis looks out the corner of his eye and sees a famillar face."Alright he says i'll take the Radio,
the books,some of those jelly beans and that Scarf. "Deal?"Said Davis.
Rasta considers and finialy agrees to the terms. Affter giving Rasta the keys and some fuzy dice for
the van. "Have fun,drive safe and if you need any help just give my frequecy a click,okay?"
Said Davis already walking toward his old freind:Daneil Cross. "Hello,Daneil! You still have my
book?"

Davis had just yelled to him.  Hopefully, he still remembered where this book was...  was it in his bag?  Maybe he had it under the counter... here it is!  It was right under the counter.
"Yeah, I have it.  Do you need it back right now?  I haven't finished it..." Daniel said. Though, in reality, he had already finished the book and was making a second run through.  It was quite interesting, and he hoped that everything would make even more sense the second time through.

Davis wacthed as his old freind dug though his back pack.'He never finishs any of the books

I give him. What does he do
when he's not at work?' "No I don't need it back yet.You can keep it another couple of weeks

if you need to." Said Davis rolling his eyes. "Where have you been? You missed my latest

unvailing."Said Davis in a fake depressed tone. 'Oh yeah, I forgot Davis makes
model and minitures from the metal he finds.' "Was it big?" Said Daniel eagrly. "Huge! It's

a least eight meters arcross!" Said Davis
in a excited voice. Daniel finialy made it to where his freind was standing. Davis was

dressed in his usual denium Jack and Jeans
with a handker cheif hanging around his neck and a pair of thick gogles straped to his head.

He envied Davis. Davis always jot to
go on adventures and see new things, just once he'd like to go out on a scavange with Davis.

Anything to get away from the store.
As if sensing his thoughts Davis said:"You know i'm going back out tomorow. If you wan't to

come with me, i have an extra gas mask

Jane Tomas, Long time friend to Davis, and family freind to the Dents, sat staring Davis'

many sculptures and models
on the shelves there were small figurines of coper,crome and bronze of the various charaters

of the books Davis love and read.
On the ceiling there where Star Ship replicas that where made from light materials like tin

and aluminium. Some of them large as small dogs others so big Davis had to suspend them with

large chains which he forged himself. She always loved to look at
things Davis made. 'He is so talented, how'd he ever wind up a Scraper? Scrapers where

pepole who would venture out into the dessert to find materials for the town and for junk

shops they owned and ran by themselves. She wished she could tell Davis how
she felt about his work. Whenever she was around him she felt happy and complety at peace,

but he never noticed. He was oblivious
to her presence. 'Maybe if I were a peice of lifeless iron he'd pay attension to me.' She

thought sadly.Just then Davis come in the door with another boy. He was a teenager, about

seventeen years old with tanned skin,light brown hair and bule almost almond shaped eyes.
Just as Davis walked in the  radio blared to life and a deep voice boomed out:

Davis pick up the the mike and spoke into it.
"Hey, Rasta! Yeah i still got the book I havn't realy opened it yet.
What's a CD? Never heard of one of those, over."
While Davis was fooling around with the radio, Daneil was looking at the strange book
Davis had left on a empty work table. It was a ragged looking leather book with no title.
'Well thats not ture. Look there's some letters on the right hand side.' Daniel took a
closer look at the book. Indeed there where some words on it but they wren't in english.
They looked like..'That can't be right.' Thought Daniel as he looked at the All Seeing Eye
of the eygptian sun god Ra.

Just beffore Daneil could tell Davis about what he found, the radio blared again.
It was the man called Rasta he telling Davis about an Airport. Davis seemed to get excited about that.
"Hey, Daneil do you think you're parents will mind you going out to the Sand Trap? It's not far and i'll need
some one to drive the extra vehice. You can drive right?"

Rint walked across the wasteland sweating inside his gas mask. It sure got hot inside them. He didn't really need to have it on especially not when he was just a couple of kilometers away from Ravenne. But sometimes it happened he would get to carried away while tracking and accidentally walk into The blight, a dirty zone a couple of miles away from the town. There is no game inside the The blight only death. Madness and diseases awaited you in there so Rint always used his gas mask. Better safe then sorry.
Slung over Rint's shoulder was the pelt of a wolf. Animals is rare in the wasteland except snakes and bugs but sometime it would happened that a pack of wolves would cross it crazed by hunger wich made them even more dangerous. They wouldn't think twice of attacking and eat a human if they came across one. Rint had been tracking this one since yesterday afternoon only to find it dead. It's meat had spoiled but the fur was still good and would be able to bartered for something real nice. Usually Rint only traded snake skin and meat and wouldn't get much from it.

"Home sweet home." Rint thought as he walked on the road leading in to Ravenne.
"Hey you there!" It's one of the city guards. Their job is simple, keep out the raiders and bandits and those who look like they gone insane from the dirty zones. "Come over Here!"
As Rint got closer he saw that is was Varr. "Varr is that you? Long time no see."
"Knight! it's been to lo... My god! whats that beast you got over shoulder?"
"Hahaha, easy Varr it's just a wolf. I've tracked it since yesterday. Unfourtanely it was dead when I got to it. Meat spoiled but the fur was still good."
"Wolf. I've heard stories about them. Maneaters. They say you can hear their mighty howl echo across the wasteland at night. I don't get you Knight you go out there by your own will. No, safer to be a guard."
"Hahaha Varr it's so beautiful out there. One of these days your coming with me."
"Never! Your not getting me one meter outside the city limits I tell you that."
"We'll see. I have to go Varr. Going to see Lucky Five and see what he gives me for this fur."
"Right, bye Knight."



OOC: Someone should make maps over the town and the surrounding areas.

[A Forgotten Legend]

"Me?  You're kidding right?  You've pretty much got the only vehicle in town!" he said, although, driving seems like it would be fun.  Did he remember how to get to the Sand Trap?  He thought it was on the east side of town, outside the borders... but, he still had work to do.  If he left, he could get in major trouble, and possibly be fired.  Choices... why in the hell were choices invented.  He sighed.  I must stay here, I can catch up after work.

"Sorry, I can't right now, I have to work.  I might be able to catch up..." he stopped, the tattered book caught his eye again.  What is that book?  He turned and headed back to work.  Four o'clock... only until four o'clock...

"Hey, Rasta. Rasta?" "Oh boy, well I better get out there beffore he becomes Buzard food."
Davis headed out the door and got in the truck starting up the powerfull V8 engine.
'Well at least she's in good shape.' Thougt Davis as he put the truck into gear and
speed out the gate. As Davis glanced out the window he Saw a big man with short almost white blonde hair that he didn't reconginze. "Wonder who he is. Ah, got enough problems without
worring about strangers and their buisness. He finish talking to the gaurd and speed
away heading east aross the Dune Maze towards the Sand Trap.

Davis' old dusty truck speed though the dessert at a steady sixty mile per hour pace kicking up dust. He was currently in the Sand Trap. a huge strech of sand that extended for 180 miles for as far as the eye could see.The air was so hot that it created miraiges, ilussions that wern't real but seemed real. It was aslo the home of Wolves Spiders and other dangerous dessert animals. He could see Rasta's new blue van in a thick forrest of..forrest?? Thought Davis widly. 'Theres no forrests in the Wastes.' But there it was a medium sized group of trees. Which was more trees than Davis ever saw in his entire life. "I wonder where I am?"
Said Davis parking the Truck a litte away from the trees, he had heard the rumors of
Miriages, ilussions that tricked unwary travelers to a step fall of a unseen cayon or
pit. Just as Davis was Gathering his thoughts he heard somthing beheind him. He spun and
pulled his gun of his belt and met the eyes of a man wearing only a pair of overalls
and a tank top. He had in his calased hands a large shotgun. "Don't move! Put that gun
on the ground, or i'll blast you!" Davis didn't like his odds. He could fire a few rounds
from his gun beffore the ohter guy, but they would inflict minor damage. If the man with
the shotgun hit him even once, Davis would be killed. "I surender, don't shot me!" Davis
said in a shaky voice. He set the gun down on the ground. and add his spear to it.
The older man smilled. Now Davis could make out his features. He was in his late fourties
with short gray brown hair and a large build. 'To big to take on hand to hand but maybe if Davis could disstract him,he could get that big gun away from him." Thought Davis already
trying to figure out how to esscape from the big man. "Come on, i'll take you to your freind." Said the older man.

[Red Fox]

Lucky was sitting behind his desk in his shop, if it can be called that. It's a shack build from what he could find, a hood from a car there, a car door here, some old bricks there and so on. But then again this is how most of the houses is build in the town. The only modern building in the town is the gas station in the center.
Lucky Five is a trader his shack is filled with various junk people traded with him.
"Rint, Rint my ol' mate. What beast of the waste have you slain for me today?"
"Hey Lucky." Rint said as he put down the wolf pelt on the desk infront Lucky. "I wouldn't exactly call it slaying but I got you this wolf pelt."
"Aahhh, a wolf. Fearsome beasts they are. And rare too. I will have use for this, what do you wish for it?"
"I really don't have anything in mind. What do you offer?"
"Well let's see." Lucky got up from his chair behind the desk and started searching through all the junk he got stocked up in the shack. From boxes to shelves he went. "Aaaah, I think I found what the knight of the waste needs." He turned around holding a hunting rifle in one hand and some bullets in the other. "What do you say Rint? Is it worth a trade?"
"A rifle!? My father used to hunt with those in the early days. Before the bombs. But no, I stick with my bow. Sure it might make hunting easier but when I run out of bullets it will be a real bitch to find new ones. I think I just take some credits for it Lucky."
"Hmmm as you wish." Lucky put the rifle and bullets back on the shelve and returned to his desk. "I give you 300 for it. Deal?"
"Deal."
" By the way Rint have you seen that kid David or Davis something like that anyway. I saw him drive away into the waste in that old truck of his. It's strange... I wonder where he gets the fuel for it."
"Hahaha, Lucky your just jealous."
"So it might be. So it might be."
"Well, I'm going to the bar to spend my newly earned creds. See you later Lucky."
"Aye, good hunting knight of the waste."
"... Stop calling me that."

The older man lead Davis though the trees. 'Trees. They were real.' Thought Davis in wonder. He had heard of
trees but never actauly seen them. Other than Cacti and some orchids, nothing could grow out in the Wastes.
 Nothing Davis knew of. Yet there was a lush layer of grass on the ground and even flowers. As he marveled
at the forest his captor led him to a clearing. There were fences and cages scattered everywhere. They contained Chickens,Goats and , in the fenced in part , cows. Cows?! Now those were rare. He knew a person who kept cows in town, but they were only a few theese were many. There were at least ten. More than
Ravvene had for sure. Who was this man. "Who are you, old timer?" Said Davis. The older man just pionted the
gun towards a shed and said "You're freind's in there." Davis called out to Rasta "You ok,Rasta?"
"Yeah , i'm ok. You?" Said Rasta. "Been better." Awnsered Davis. He looked at the old man "Now,that you know
i'm not a bandit how about we talk?" The old man seemed a bit unerved by Davis' reply. As if he excpected
him to be a theif, come to ro and kill him. "You can start by telling me where your from. Then how you got
them cars." He said. Davis explaned thier story it was almost noon and the sun was going down.
"There, now you know all about us how about you? Who are you and what is this place." said Davis.
The old man sighed and pulled somthing from around his neck. He handed it to Davis. Davis held it up to
his face examining it closely. Rasta come to stand beside Davis looking at the silverly symbol they both
reconized: The Folded leaf of the E.R.A. "You're ERA?but they were wipped out." Said Rasta.
Allow to awnser your next question. Come with me he said steping around the corner of his sunk in house.
Davis and Rasta looked at each other skepticly. " What choice do we have said Davis following the older
man around the corner. Rasta sighed and followed casting a look back to where his vechicle was siting
glinting in the sun.

                                                         Meanwhile in Ravvene
                                               --------------------------------------------------
The gaurd,Karr was wacthing the sun set on the dunes of the Dry Seas when he saw a white form moving towards Ravvene. He took out his telescope and brought to his eyes. What he saw was a man, shrouded in a flowing white robe. He was african american, with a shaven head and piercing blue eyes. The man was not alone
There where to shapes coming over the dunes as well. The smaller shapes looked like children. their faces
covered by bandanas tied around their faces. He tought they might be bandits, but no bandit whould dare to
come within a hundred miles of the city. The man and two small assitants come up and he said in very warm and freindly voice, "Greetings, my freinds! My name is Ardor and these are my two assitants Set and Sheba!"
Noticing the man's curious expresion he added "The traveling Trio. Your mayor sent for us?"
"Oh, your travellers." He said releaved that he didn't have to shoot them. "Please, go right on in."
The huge gates opened in a wide yawn. The black man smilled and said. "Thank you, sir. One more of
fellows will be here soon, he is driving a treaded vehicle. It is nescesary for our act. You will let him pass."
The last word was said as a comand rather than question but Karr didn't notice anything but the small gold coin
that had suddenly taken up all of his attension span. "Yeah, sure just go in." Karr said in a very stupifeyed voice.
"Thank you, my freind! you have been most generous." He then motioined for his two smaller asisstants
to come forward. And they left a very confused Karr outside wondering what had transpired since he last
saw the sun seting.
The Trio moved at clam pace towards the shack of the man called Lucky Five. The man in white smilled to
himself thinking: 'At last, Eden will be mine.'

It is easy to grow pineapples in your own backyard. Here is how:

Get your favorite pineapple from the shop. Cut or twist off the crown from the top of the fruit and set aside. Eat the rest of the fruit as you normally would.

Allow the bottom of the crown to dry out for a day or two.

Plant in sandy well-drained soil.

Water weekly. Pineapples, like most Bromeliads, prefer water in their vase-like tops.

Once the young plant is established, pour a cupful of well balanced diluted water soluble liquid fertilizer into the top of the plant Monthly. Avoid getting dirt or sand  into the buds at the top of the plant as it may kill it.

Form:  Short, stiff herbaceous

Leaves:  4' or longer and often spiny

Flowers:  Purple to pink-red on a stalk, blooms during late Winter to early Spring

Fruits: Compound and fleshy -- usually yellow when ripe
