Gem; I find nothing immature about complaining when mods misuse their powers. It is plain outright something that shouldn't be done, especially in the name of fun. Imagine if a politician changed the words of an underling just to be funny? I realize that the seriousness of the situation is different, but the same concept still applies.

Now, I'm all for making the forum fun, that's shown in what contests I did, forum games I made/contributed to, etc. but I feel what you and Bluhman did crosses a line. Bluhman at least apologized, however. If you wanted to make a joke, you could've just as easily doubled the r's in your own post.

And Felix, I'm really not trying to get people mad at anyone. My post was to tell Bluhman that I was angered at what he did, and he corrected himself. I in no way ment for others to somehow be offended by it.

Erm, Rev and Sai, you're missing the big picture here. The reason this came about is because charas started sinking into a mass of spam. The 'let the topic live if it still has a use' thing went too far the other way and there'd be pages and pages of in jokes that a few people were a part of and everyone else had to sift through.

Everyone called for stricter moderation because of that, and so we did what we were asked. It worked... to a point. It's worth mentioning that Stu and Bluhman are still learning on the job.

I'm happy to have the wandering topic idea back (In fact I never realised that had been abolished >.> I liked it). But if you'd come back a couple of months ago you might have been just as disgusted as you are now, but the other way around.

Meis, I really don't feel the need to apologize to you.
I added a couple of "R"s in, to contrast a running joke you have going about blowing semen on your keyboard. If i was as much of a jerk as you're painting me to be, I would have initially told you not to joke about adult subject matter on an all ages web-forum.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill, and you're doing it to stir up drama.


Sure....you're right. I don't have the right to edit your posts unless a rule has been broken. but if I wanted to split hairs, I could easily say that you have broken a rule, in making a pornographic joke. And then I could go and edit every single one of your "r"less posts. But I wont....And I wouldn't because you aren't worth the time, and contrary to what you think, I like to have fun.

On that topic, for somebody who likes to have fun online, you sure do like to alienate new members. Don't throw stones if you live in glass houses.

A mature way of handling your situation would have consisted of...well...acting like an adult and not a 10 year old that didn't get his way. You made no formal complaint to myself.

I have now edited 2 of your posts. the first one, as mentioned, and another, in which i actually REMOVED another Mods edit after having a polite and mature discussion about how editing other members posts is no longer, and essentially was never acceptable.

Your attempts at stirring up e-drama make you no better then the average Gaia online user.

I know you try to bring fun to the place...but if you look at the edit I made to your post, I did nothing but the same. To compare my position to that of a politician is stupid, and I cant help but think you're trying to split hairs.

Im not sure what exactly it is that happened in your day to day life that made you want to come back here, and  instigate drama, but im willing to bet its your inability to conduct yourself like a real man. If you did in fact have this ability, Im sure you would have made the effort to contact myself or another Administrator in an adult manner to resolve this issue rather then trying to rally public contempt.

Where after the point was made you continued to bicker needlessly with the new member. If people are too lazy to sift through a few pages to see where the topic is at, why are they on the forum.  If they're really THAT lazy, then just read the first post and respond to that. Like I said, AT ITS CORE, THE THREAD IS STILLLL ABOUT W/E THE ORIGINAL POST WAS ABOUT.   Theres no big picture to miss.  its a simple concept, and to properly moderate it, all you need is a bit of common sense.  And no thats not a shot at any mods, just explaining how easy it is. 

See theres 2 simultaneous subjects going on here. Meis being a whiny poo poo pants, and spam.  Indirectly related.  Co-existing in the same thread.  NO PROBLEM. AT ALL. To take care of what one would call spam in that way, especially if the spam is overflowing in said board, is not excessive.
Spam, under Dictionary.com, stands for an unwanted, potentially disruptive message sent by means of electronic communication such as e-mail, voice-messages and yes, online forums.
UNWANTED is the key word. People don't like spam. Spam is frowned upon. It's bad. It's annoying.
And if you're going to post spam, expect action, especially if you repeat the actions to a disruptive extent.

However, diverging from a topic into another one is not offensive. In fact, it's also to be expected. In conversations, such things happen. From Lucas' grounding could have emerged countless other topics because of the past experiences of other people taken into account when said people are to write a reply. When I say topic, I mean other topics of discussion.

And Rev, that word is turned into weenie because people of all ages frequent this board and as such vulgar language is not correct for use in this board.

I agree with you. And I never complained about wanting stricter mods and I completely disagree with those people. Ironically, from what I know (though I don't for sure), the people who complained for stricter mods are now the ones complaining that there's no freedom. Some people just like to complain.
