Need halp.

So, I kind of need this dude for my game, as he's one of the characters you meet early in the game. I couldn't really find a good combination using the generator, so I took on the bold task of drawing him myself. (I'm referring to the guy on the right side of the charset.)
POINT: I'm having trouble with his hair. I tried to draw the back, and it just looks like grass. If someone could help me or give me some tips on how to do this thing correctly, I would greatly appreciate it. I want this to look good.

You could try one of the things I do.
Usually I just pick a hairstyle off of Charas.EX (or the online generator) that's close to the hairstyle of the character and I edit it.
Or I just take bits and pieces of different hairstyles and combine them together.

I bet you're wondering, if I have a full team of people to help me on my RPGs, how come they don't look too good?

Try drawing the shape of the hair instead of trying to get every straw of hair in there.
