Before I saw the last part concerning the video game community, I was going to say everything he said there.

But on another note, his feelings of failure stem from an acceptance of certain social roles as being "better" than others. If it was his intent to have a happy marriage and he failed, then sure, he is a failure. But do not take it upon yourself to preach and implicitly belittle those who strive towards different goals. If videogames make you happy, what is the difference? I hope I'm not being too controversial when I say that marriage is no guarantee for satisfaction and happiness. A climber can fail to climb everest; don't tell me that I failed. I never tried.

I agree with this. I was a bit put off by what I felt were anti-introvert undertones in the video. The guy really only warmed up to video games once he realized that people could end up socializing because of them. Evidently wasting your time on something meaningless is all right as long as you do it with other people.

Although an RPG Maker Con does sound like fun.
