Day Eight: Mine All Mine

Another rather uneventful day; I spent my time mining out the area beneath my house with the aim of gathering cobblestone to smelt as well as the coal needed to smelt it. I didn't see anyone on during my time on.

Day Nine: Setting The (Nether) World A-Blaze

It's about time I ventured into the nether. I had popped in briefly to get some nearby quarts and glowstone, but I didn't bother to stick around too much to explore. Now, I've gone and made a stairway in one of the pillars for the fortress right next to the portal in. I found a Blaze spawner and made a semi-competent trap to farm them. I also ran away from Ghasts because they kept spawning right in my face. Back in the regular world, I wired up some nightlights around part of my house to help illuminate the area. I also made a wall of quartz blocks, but I'm uncertain if that would be the most ideal block for making a wall. Still, it looks pretty nice.

I need to get to making a wall around my place and setting up some competent lighting to keep mobs from spawning inside my place. Problem is I built my place right next to a cliff and I'm not sure how well my efforts to keep mobs from dropping in from that cliff will be. Also, I'm usually on from 11 PM EST to 2AM EST. But for you EU bacon-hatin' folks I can find a time when you guys are on and see if I can jump on the server.

Also, I'm thinking I may take a break from survival and start building a massive custom dungeon a la theme, floating castle. If anyone wants to help me, I'd be much obliged! Basic premise being the place will be protected so you won't be able to break blocks unless you're OP'd and I'd like to give a super awesome reward for getting to the top of the castle.

Day Ten: Out of Ten

More improvements to my house were made, and a boatload of materials were smelted. I've decided to go ahead and make the (optional but still planned for) patio attachment on the side of my house to round things out a bit. I also refined the somewhat flawed dark-activated lights around the windows of my house and cut down a lot of trees for charcoal. Moosetroop was on for a little bit, and we exchanged things like dirt and cobblestone (the rarest of all materials). Things were pretty good today, though a bit slow.

Day Twelve: Fuck You, DB

Your goddamn moat ate my horse. I don't think I'll find a horse with that good a stat balance ever again, and your moat killed it. The combination of an undertow, high walls, and stupid horse AI drowned my horse, and I had to resist so much temptation to TNT the hell out of your property (I just left instead).

I lighter news, I finished my patio. There's a fountain and everything. Looks great.

XD First off, it's not a moat, it's a river :p It's deep to kill off all the pesky slimes that jump in it. Why didn't you A) Use nicely crafted bridge or B) walk around the river?

I wanted to jump it, since it's only two blocks wide. I also didn't think it was that perilous. I would have been fine, but momentary server lag goofed the timing and spelled disaster.

Yeah, I suppose I've been neglecting the server the past few days. Logged on today and the server memory was clocked at 100%, so I restarted and it dropped back down to 50%. Gotta remember to do that once and a while.

I would join the server but I'm afraid to lose focus and forget to log in ever again, again.

I have been on sporadically, but no real progress has been made, so I've been lax about those journal entries. Nobody else has really been on, either, so it's been a bit dull recently.
