Hello and what's up. Here's a midi file that I quickly created and then my sister added a WHOLE BUNCH of modifications to. It's quick, it's simple, I love it. Hopefully you do too.
Music Theory.mid - 3 KB

Its a good start. The bassoon part (I'm pretty sure its bassoon) is a little hectic and the instrument doesn't sound all that great doing quick arpeggios, especially in midi. ...not to mention the bassoon isn't the most agile woodwind instrument with it having ten keys solely dedicated to your thumbs. I would try harp or pizzicato strings instead. I found the piano in the background a little strange and out of place. You have what I think is a woodwind trio playing the important lines and then piano just doubling the chords the flute and clarinet make. I think using string instruments (probably just the string ensemble sound) on that track, since the sustain of the chords would be more noticeable. As for the flute line, it goes pretty low in the flutes range at some points and below the clarinet line. I would try to 1) avoid voice crossing as it blurs which line has the main idea and 2) use an instrument that has a little more power in the lower register or bump the flute up an octave. There's a couple places where you might want to rethink the chords used in the piano, but like I said its a good start if you are just sort of getting into writing music. Hope what I've typed up here helps!
I'm interested in the file name as Music Theory, any background from that?

Wow! You seem to know your stuff. I don't know too much about music myself!
I was just screwing around with Anvil Studio and made some piano chords with arpeggios and a little bit of a lead, but my sister was taking a high school class in music theory (hence the name) and had to do some kind of project and she added alot of stuff that I thought made it sound good. She's my sister so I'm a little biased xD. Glad you liked it (kinda) and thanks for your tips. This was actually done quite awhile back and I am probably not going to do anything else with music in my life.
