What are all these bots doing here?

Wow, even with all those checks, it looks like a bot got through?

I noticed that the Forum is getting more insecure by the day.

This year has roughly 5 times(9'634 until now) more registrations than the 3 of previous years previous years(2014: 2'094, 2013: 1'729 and 2012:  3'045) also, is the year with the most member registration than any other year, with second place being 2011 with 6'519 registered members, even tho this year is the year with the least amount of posts and topics ever made showing that this amazing surplus of members nowadays is the increasing amounts of bots.

This trend began December 2014 where this month alone had 1'572 member registrations where the other months of the year had around 50 members registered.

Also, I think everyone noticed the amount of botspam the that we received those last 3 weeks. I fear that if nothing is done we will soon be overrun by bots. :/

If you would like to discuss the bot problem, I would like to suggest opening a new thread about it. I'm well aware that this is the first time I've ever tried to keep a thread on topic instead of derailing it, but I feel that it would be better that way.

This you think is a Spam storm worthy of noting? Ha! Should have joined the forum in my day. Bots and trolls plastered threads till they were nearly unreadable. But unless you are interested in DLing Misadventures? Please refrain from commenting on them here further. Thanks. ^_^

We decreased the captcha difficulty from extreme to hard at the start of the year, so now the bots appear from time to time. For some reason they love Fish's thread and the stuff in test and welcome.

No, but I fear that is a sign that soon there will be too many bots if nothing is done about it. It might not be that many right now, but their numbers are rapidly increasing.

Seriously though, what kind of data gets run through these neural nets is beyond me. They seem to advertise things that
have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with, well, RPG Maker, games, game design, art, or anything that this forum is even about.

Totally beats me! Don't these bots data mine the most common words in the forum ad then advertise with that or something?

I think these bots have pre-set advertisements and just try to get in most number forums possible not caring what they are about whatsoever.
