That's not even counting the RPG Maker games thrown in at every level.  Wish I'd realized this sooner -- I could've budgeted for it instead of a couple other things I've bought recently.

I think this was the bundle I bought, and I didn't really look it over, so tonight is the first time I've gone through what I got.

Just the VX Ace DLC alone is an incredible amount of value for what I paid.  I would definitely keep an eye out for future RPG Maker bundles from Humble Bundle -- this is just crazy what I'm unpacking here.  Tons of music packs -- I didn't really count them, but at a rough guess, I netted well over a hundred tracks (possibly closer to 200), all royalty-free for use in VX Ace commercial projects.  I also got a lot of tile packs for various settings, and a lot of character packs, and even a lighting/shader engine for creating light and shadows in the game.

So glad I jumped when I had the chance!

This is why I'm pleased to buy more engines (and DLC) than I actually use.  I figure it's kinda like making up for the pre-legal times by ensuring that the company gets a goodly amount of funding (although I'm buying everything as cheaply as I can, because that's how my games budget allows me to have over 200 Steam games).

Not that I have much trouble with how we used to do it -- it was either pirate the thing or do without (No Export for You!), and the buzz generated through the illegal versions is what led to the company deciding to bring it over here to begin with.  It's part of the reason that I call myself a "New Media Pragmatist": Our current legal system isn't set up to benefit either the public or the companies when it comes to the legalities of passing around computer programs, so, pragmatically, it sometimes makes more sense to do the sort of things I wouldn't be the least bit ethical doing in areas other than digital media.

But still.  I'm glad to have the engines, even if I don't use them much, and glad to pass the word along to others who might get more benefit out of them than I am right now ^_^

I know the feeling, Purple. Every game is an RTP slate with sex to make it sell. Just awful.

I actually genuinely wanted to try and sell and rm2k3 game years ago, as if it would do well, but I think it's just nice to
have rm2k3 there for hobbyism.
