Offline Faceset Generator Beta
« on: April 08, 2004, 06:42:25 PM »
Hi ya people,
I've been working some time on this now.
I'm releasing a beta version so people can check it out & help me finding bugs.
It includes a importing program for importing resources.
The link:

The package includes:
- The importer
- the Facesetgen
- 20 resources
Known bugs:
-The importer can import all size images, but it gotta import only 48X48.
-When saving you need to type .bmp or .png behind the name

Tell me if you see a bug, give me your opinion or a suggestion.

TO-DO list:
- Quicker resource switching

Nicky

P.S. Don't be angry if your resources are not in it cuz I just took some from the site for testing
P.P.S if this is the wrong place moderators please move it

It works for me, but it's kind of slow to use. I mean those "get resource" and "put resource" things.

Well, this isn't  that bad!
Of course it needs developement, but you seem on the right way.
At a glance, a couple of things:
1) better to have a x2 example preview too, it may help understanding the differences between similar resources
2) support for png files: seems it can save only bmps, evenif you choose to save as png
3) to browse faster resouces, probbly the best is to open a dir and show all of it's contents. Just make that click on the shown resource put that on the final image
4) you should also think something for grouped resources (recolors), to avoid waste of space. Visually, a new area with an "all group" resources would be fine. Technically, probably the best is to work with a sort of "text database". This way you'll be free to leave resources their original names, making easy the creation of "upgrade packs".

Good luck!

:yell: i forgot to put this in the well known bugs list:
When saving you should put .bmp behind the name to save as bmp and .png to save as png

the open dir with showing all resources is kinda hard for me, i dunno if arrows will be fast enough tho
