The Treasure Saga

Anyway,  the game is about a traveler named John crossing the
countryside to find "The Legacy", an ancient and legendary
treasure. During his travels, he finds the also legendary treasure
map to the "The Legacy". He uses the map to journey through
the world, in search of the treasure. During his travels, he learns
of his destiny.

The Legacy is one of those extremely cheesy RPG Maker names, though.
Like 'THE DRAGON LEGEND' or 'DRAGON[STRIKE]HEART[/STRIKE]SOUL' or 'LEGEND OF THE MAGI'.

Eh, I'm going with it anyway.

Since this game is going to be about treasure, I'm thinking of making a mini-game to look for treasure.

You get a shovel. Then you search around with it for items. Don't know how I'm going to program it though... anybody got any better ideas?

Maybe the mini-game could be like Minesweeper, except the mines are GOOD and replaced with treasure.
Like, you have a timer, and events covering the map. When you press space on one of the events, it shows in some way to notify how much treasure is nearby.
If you press space on treasure, it can be items or whatever.
When the timer runs out, you collect your items.
It's easy to code! :D

yeah, The Legacy is a very cliched name.well, i hope he looked at the name that i suggested.(when i said The Legacy i was only joking, that was because he said "The Legacy" 3 times and i got mad with that) :D

Don't know if this helps but Dragon ball was about tresure hunters. a 16 year old girl and a 12 year old boy. One Piece is also about pierets so maby the hero shouild meet a fighter and a pirete who are also in search of the treasre. John wil do the digging and stuff, the pirete will sail and the fighter will do the hard stuff. mabye a fe-male would be good like for a piolet or something...hey this si strating to sound good.

Durn. I'm having some trouble with the timer thing...  :x

I'm trying to make it that after the timer expires you're sent out of the treasure area.

Does anybody have any idea how I can make this happen?
