New Game

Recently, my computer crashed, and I lost most of my games. So, I'm starting a new game.

First off, the plot. Elain is a young woman who is the Lead Guard of the Gem. The Gem is a mystical artifact whose purpose is unknown, but must be kept out of the wrong hands, to be safe.

Things begin to turn ugly when Elain is framed for various crimes. She travels with some friends, following clues left by the perpatrator. But with the Gem unprotected, what may happen?

I know it's probably cliche and overdone, but I can take suggestions.

It seems a little cliche, but my suggestion is to make the unexpected. What I mean is, the clues that are there, let them be total unexpected, like say, the gem was destroyed, and the hero was down, but you figure out it was a lie, and so you continue on. Just a suggestion.

let me pass some of these your way
is the gem/crystal stolen?

if not she could take it with her...
and the gem could be the true evil, and it could have summoned the thing that really did the crime.
and this way you can have her not know and the gem could summon monsters after her.
or it could ressurect/materialize into a demon, confess its crimes and destroy her whole home town

or could just be another culprit, original owner

what kind of crime is it?

 it should be mass murder

she could get caught, then break out of jail in a break in that was to break someone else out so you can add foreshadowing and the like, or she can just go with them.

then she can have enemies from differents places.
her home town( if you don't destroy it or if you do) and the ones being summmoned

hope you meant for the story......

or u can make the gem give her powers (wouldn't know what kind)

Thanks for some of the suggestions. And, yes, there will be murder involved. But the victim? I ain't tellin'.

There are many secrets to the gem, and evil forces abound. Such as what would happen if the gem were destroyed.

As for the clues, it is initially like any mystery, where the suspect consistently changes.
