Have you ever thought of it?
« on: March 29, 2005, 06:16:20 AM »
I mean how many different ways the earth can end, I saw a commercial on the discovery channel ( shut up i actually do watch it) and they say that a super volcano is building up power and will eventually explode engulfing new york all the way to Hawaii, and it can go more! Also in about a thousand year scientists say that a big asteroid can knock the earth out of orbit.

So i was thinking, since the government is spending thier money on useless testing and unessessary changes, why dont they work on technology that can possibly stop these natural disasters.

I say that anyone who says that a meteor will come in EXACTLY 1000 year is full of ****.

How the hell would they know, seriously?

thousands and millions of years later the sun MIGHT explode...I suppose that would collapse the universe and therefore destroy every planet!

I don't believe in a total destruction of the planet by a meteor or something like that. Honsetly, I believe God will be back before anything like that happens. Yes, I know that most of you aren't Christians- so let's not argue about it. I'm just stating what I believe will be the end of this world/planet.

Petunia: If the sun exploded (which it most likely won't), then it would not collapse the whole universe. Probably just this galaxy.

Who knows when the world will be destroyed or if it'll be destroyed at all? All you can do is live your life as well as you can. As long as you've done that, then there isn't much to worry about.

You said it yourself, we can't do anything about it.
So why worry?

I doubt a meteor will hit earth in the next 1000 years, it's not impossible, because if it can hit in the next million years, it could just as likely hit tomorrow. But meteors normally miss, since Earth is so small. The meteors can even be attracted (gravity) to the sun and avoid the Earth all together. And except for the really big ones, meteors normally burn up in our atmosphere.

By the time that it's expected for the sun to go KABOOM the human race might already have learned to live on other planets or even galaxies... also, if a meteor comes towards the earth it is 1 in a 1000000000 that it'll actually hit and cause mass destruction, so we have little to worry about in that part... instead worry about getting assasinated on the street instead, its a WAY bigger chance that that happend

When/if Earth is destroyed, or the sun blows up, and so on, humans will probably be extinct anyway. We've got some SERIOUS work to do before we'll EVER get to another inhabitable planet, since our spaceships suck. So far the furthest we've gotten a ship (with people inside) is the moon. We can get an unmanned shi out of the solar system, but barely. So, most likely the "humans on other planets" thing will never happen. (hopefully if we DO go to other planets, we'll have learned from our mistakes on THIS one and not do the "pollute and destroy everything we touch before we know anything about it" crap again)

And after we nuke ourselves to death, the world will be ruled by cockroaches because after all of our pollution, they're all that can actually survive decently.

Then again we all live for 70-102 (100+ are the lucky ones) so during our life between 2000-2100 I doubt anything more disasterous that the Iraq war might happen...

I heard that the sun was gonna expand, rather than explode. Something to do with the sun using up all its "natural fuel" - nitrogen or something I guess - and as such, the pressure drops and the sun gets bigger. I heard it'd only take out a few planets though. The earth still being one of them. Ehh.

I don't really care anyway. If it happens, it happens.

But then again, We have thousands of years to advance our tech so who knows? maybe we'll be able to create silos or something that we can store poisioned gas that can be cleaned and re-used as normal oxigen...

And as for the space ships... we still have time to advance them...
If we can get loads of water and oxigen o a space ship we might be able to grow plands inside the ship... if is succedess the ship won't have to worry about running out off air... most of you that have read Biology knows that what animals/humans breather out theplants breathes in and the n it lets out oxygen that humans breathes is and so on...

and if that goes as planned humans might as well land plenty of air filled space ships on marsh or something like it and build them together
Result: a huge base that humans can breathe on... Clever huh??? (It might not work but one can try)

the sun expanding is part of the stars dying process dragonium.

and as Enduo_ril said, we will probably be extinct or we would have killed ourselves through our own mistakes *cough*pollution*cough*

i don't care really, Because when it happens, we'll all be long dead anyway.

I've never really thought of world destruction..... Well not from meteors and supernovas* the thing I worry about is the greenhouse effect (Or whatever) that comes from the f***ing factories... Gee... I think it would be bigger risk that G. W. Bush would try and blow up ALL countries and take their oil(Which I think he's planning when you think of what he is already doing...) and cause mass destruction would be a bigger risk... Worry more about Bush's comming actions of war then about a meteor. A meteor can miss us and the sun will more likely give us enough time to come up with a way to save ourselves from its supernova. But if Bush or anyone else with nukes plans to fire a nuke to another country it's a really high chance that you are one of the victims. Now I'm talking about a whole country where wars often start.

*Supernova = When a  star dies it'll first gather alot of energy and the let it out in a KABOOM which is bigger than a nuke explosion. After a time the explosion will gather again and create a Black hole**

**Black hole = (Yes, it's exactly what it sounds to be) The corpse of a dead star that slowly slides through the universe swallowing everything that comes near it. That is not near as 10 yards... I mean kilometers***

***No line = Most of you already knows about this. But if someone don't know I just wrote it up, You can correct me if you like.

Edit: I don't know if I can call myself Christian... I'm non-religius but I'm reading into the swedish church... NO COMMENTS!
