Dana. A land in turmoil.
A world that used to stand proud and fair, rich, where princes and presidents and peasants could speak eye-to-eye.
Alas, no more.
Dana has slipped into the hand of corruption. Disputes over riches and power; the irony of wars over morality; and an ancient enemy which threatens to put this pathetic world out of its misery...
Atop all this are the Gods of Dana, offering a hand on occasion to free the people from tyranny and peril whenever they can. Eight celestial beings, ruling over a land where nothing else may lie.
- Goliath, God of the Planet.
- Felza, Goddess of Life.
- Rin, God of Wealth.
- Corva, Goddess of Peace.
- Morta, God of War.
- Iefa, God of Crafting.
- Benz, Goddess of Magicks.
- Lakou, God of Music.
They were the beings that controlled the land, creating the provinces and the races. All was well under their guidance.
However, the Gods had one downfall. They were bound to their own Realm, a parallel life to the mortal beings. Any God or Goddess hoping to cross the barrier would risk losing their strength; strength which would take thousands of years to regain...
The final race to be created were the Demons. They were deeply religious and helpful to other Races. However, the Gods disliked them (The reason for this has long been forgotten). So the Demons' crops were not fertilised, they grew slowly, water was unclean, and livestock was prone to disease.
However, despite their many virtues, the Demons were vengeful people. Their priests made a decision that was difficult to comprehend - raise an army, slay the other Races, and get the recognition they deserved. With ungodly speed, they took action, slaughtering anyone who got in their way.
The Gods discovered this. They felt that it was their duty to help the mortals and not abandon their followers. However, doing this would weaken them to a point where, if anything else were to happen in the future, they would be unable to help. It was a difficult decision, but in the end, they crossed over into the Mortal Realm, and stopped the Demonic invasion. They destroyed the Army, defeated the Demons' Matron Mother, Anda, and, because her power was too great to completely destroy, they sealed her inside a Mural in a remote location.
And for six millenia, Dana was at peace.
But it seemed that one Demon had survived; a half-blood, part Demon, part Human. Known as "Harvest", he was obsessed with finishing what his millions of brothers had started. He killed many, gathered their Gatsun (The dark matter that makes up half of a person's soul), and it made him more Demonic, forcing out the holy Kraan. He grows stronger day by day, becoming more Dark and powerful.
And yet, the Gods had no strength left. They could not go to stop him. So, they came up with a novel solution. They would amass their remaining energy, and create a warrior. Someone who could fight for them, stop Harvest from destroying everything. There was only one way it could be done...
Somewhere, on a battlefield in the East, a dying young man closes his eyes...
------------------------------------
Radian
"Faith is a powerful thing, but it can't justify itself..."
Age: 22
Height: 5'10
Class: Warrior
Weapon: Great Axe
Bio: A young man, who knows nothing of his past. He was entrusted with a difficult task which he knows little about; a task which could affect the future of humanity. He is emotional and deep, but he can also be calm and focused when he needs to - he can accomplish any task when he puts his mind to it. His memory has faded to the point where his first name is all he knows. He is also highly trained with his Axe, although he does not know how or why.
Special Skill: Fated Blade - A powerful strike which can be linked to strike various enemies.
Endair
"Even the lowliest soul deserves a voice of its own"
Age: 182
Height: 6'0
Class: Archer
Weapon: Longbow
Bio: An Elven Ex-Commander, exiled for disobeying his leader's rules. He commanded a large part of the Elven Army, but when he disagreed with the Army's increasingly suicidal protocols, he took up Archery, and urged his unit to do the same. For this, he was banished. He is calm and collected, and hopes that one day he can return to the Army to apologise to his leader and regain his position.
Special Skill: Commanding Soul - A virtuus call which can spur on allies, healing HP and boosting stats.
Karen
"Wherever we're going, I'm with you"
Age: 21
Height: 5'8
Class: Medic
Weapon: Knife
Bio: An optimistic young Medic from Karika. She is hard-working, but loves to have fun. She is popular and speaks her mind whenever she can. Trained as a Medic, she followed Radian on his journey to "Make sure he was alright". However, she has deeper reasons, which stretch further than anyone can possibly know...
Special Skill: Binding Light - A wave of healing energy removes all impurities.
Karma
"My lady, I will defend you"
Age: 25
Height: 5'10
Class: Guardian
Weapon: Two-Handed Sword
Bio: The Guardian to the President of Merren's daughter. He is courteous and obedient, and will follow the orders he has been given before thinking about his own safety. However, he is strong, courageous and trustworthy with it. When the President of Merren discovered that the realm of Fenne were spending his regular donations on buying forbidden machines for its weak army, the President's daughter was kidnapped. Fearing that she would be harmed, Karma chased the fleeing airships, but was shot down by an unknown source...
Special Skill: Star Lancer - A spontaneous blend of strikes which can cause heavy damage.
Arlan
[Charset in Production]
"Ah, it seems we have company..."
Age: 27
Height: 6'0
Class: Defender
Weapon: Zashi Blades
Bio: Arlan is an emotional young man, who has had his fair share of sadness. His father died when he was young, mauled by a monster which dwelt outside their village. His mother soon shared the same fate. Blinded by his rage, Arlan took his Zashi Blades (Knives designed to be either used to physically attack, or to throw as a Kozuka), and slew the monster. He later joined the Griza Regiment, a small privately-owned Army which had a high success rate. He was away on business when the entire army was annihilated by its enemies. Arlan is the only remaining survivor... Or so he believes...
Special Skill: Kozuka - Draw magic from enemies and use it to strike with incredible force.

Main char info (Others chars when I get round to it):
Radian
A skilled soldier, ressurected after he was killed protecting civilians in battle. As a holy warrior, only he is capable of stopping the sinister Harvest, a deadly half-demon, before he draws enough souls to become a true demon and takes the soon-to-be destroyed planet for his own. Can a golden axe, and the heavens above ever be enough to defeat a warrior bent on death and destruction?
Yes, I know it's one big cliche...

You're allowed to reply, you know.
Okay, new idea:
Pets
It may have been used a lot, but I thought of it and I liked it. Basically, as you walk around the world map, or in towns, you can come across Pet Shops. You can buy pets here, which are just monsters that join your party. You can't control them, they fight by their own will, and if they die they leave your party (You can heal them, but you can't revive them if they fall). I'm thinking that throughout the game, the pets you can buy get stronger, but more expensive. A suggestion for the first pets could be:
Slime - 100 Gold
Bat - 200 Gold
Snake - 350 Gold
And not a clue what comes next.
By the way, the story is coming along well. The hero is currently in the first town, finding out about what the goal of the game is. I think I solved the problem of not throwing all the storyline at the player in one go.

Oh, you took that quiz? My heart is grey, apparently.
Anyway, I've done the starting sequence. It sucks, but I've changed it three times, and I can't be bothered to edit it again. There's nothing special in it, it's really all Move Event and Messages.
Anyway, there's now a point to the game. There's an aim to it all. And I've started the first dungeon, the "Enchanted Forest". XD Basically, there's something causing the monsters to multiply, which turns out to be a big mutant wolf type thing. Radian doubts that he can complete his quest, but after you kill the wolf thing, he realises he's in with a chance. Blah, blah, blah...
I need FF6 style charsets. Using "Fixed Graphic" so that normal chars only face up and down is making the game look crappy. It looks crappy anyway, but hey, whatever.
I'll post some more screens later. Character bios to come soon.
BTW, any forest-related mini-game ideas would be greatly appreciated.

No, I'm not trashing it, it's just... Mostly dialogue. Is that okay for the first part of a game? There's virtually no action, but what do you guys wanna see?
PS. When the first chapter (Up to the first boss) is finished, I'm gonna send it to people who want it, so you can see what you think of the intro.
EDIT: Vote time! Should I put in a Bestiary (When you access it it shows you details on all the monsters you've fought) or not?
