Put ".bmp" at the end of the filename and it will work fine.

It is also possible for IE to make it into 24-bit for no reason-what-so-ever. Only encountered than once. I think with a face I was making with the generator.

unfortunately, saving as a bitmap doesn't help me, as when i try to open that, no matter what program i'm using, it tells me that it's an invalid bitmap.
and while we'rer damning microsoft, damn hewlett packard, too. they built my machine and the amount of crap they did to the liscenced copy of windows they gave me has caused all sorts of problems. the one most relevant at the moment seeming to be that no matter what i do, Netscape won't run on my machine! (neither will AIM or most instant messager programs, but i suspect that's a problem with settings somewhere....)


ah, just tried it again (fourth time, same file). it worked this time. seems spotty at best, though.

no, then it doesn't work AT ALL.
using IE 6.0.2800.1106.

getting pretty consistent results now saving as bmp. still can't make the backgroung anything but white, but that's what editiing is for. also Charas.EX works great.

part of the problem at first was probably my computer. it gets REALLY buggy when its running hot, and last night it was running HOT!!

heck, even now i've had the window open in here all day and this room is at least 8 degrees F warmer than the rest of the house!

Hi. I'm a new member, found this site when searching for character sets and stuff for RM2k and such. I've tried the chara generator, but I couldn't open the file when I saved it. I read the FAQ page, read through this, tried everything, and it STILL wont let me use the character. Even if I can open the image on my pc and look at it, whenever I try to import it onto RM, it says the size of the bitmap is illegal. How can I edit the file so I can use it???  
   


EDIT:  I'm sorry, I didn't notice the date of the last post until after I'd made this. I'll slink away in shame now...  Also, thanks. I think I can figure it out now... Sorry to be a bother.
